Christine Montross' Body of Work is outside the scope of my usual pleasure reads. Nonetheless, I found it an enjoyable read, all too quickly finished. In the book, Montross reflects upon the use of the human body as a teaching tool, both in the present day, and throughout history, while describing her own experiences dissecting a cadaver in her first year of medical school. I found her discussion of the history of anatomy particularly interesting, especially her account of the early medical schools and of "resurrectionists" and their part in obtaining bodies for study.
