I've had an ARM with Countrywide for three years - I was going to refinance but have since found out the value of my property is less than the balance on my loan. Now I have to wait until the market perks up again. In the meantime, I've had a heart attack and understanbably couldn't work for awhile. I called Countrywide to see if they would defer some payments until I was back on my feet. I was told NO! They sent me to the 'Workout' department where I submitted a hardship letter in February 08.
