Today the temperature is expected to reach 82 degrees! I've been waiting for the warm weather to come and stay for weeks. Okay, sunscreen, $8.95; favorite pair of flip-flops, $5.99; jumbo plastic drinking glass with the palm trees on it, $1.99; a day in Western North Carolina without a frost alert or a jacket, PRICELESS!
HAPPY EASTER, EVERYBODY!! ....oooh I think I ate too many marshmellow peeps, OooooooooHHhoo! :(
Last night I completed my second book! Call me an over achiever, but I was working on two books at once I finished the children's book that will be partnered with the next book. It's a follow up to, "A Hot Dog Stand in the Himalayas", and proud to say was also chosen as Author House's, "Book of the Month" for February. My next book is scheduled for print in September, to be released in November. It follows the life of Krista the little girl from the first book. In the new book Krista's great-grandmom who she refers to as "Mee-Mom" enjoys reading her stories at bedtime. Krista always picks her favorite book about a little girl named Annie and her best friend Larry. I needed a book that complimented my writing style and when I couldn't find one I decided to write my own. So the next book is actually two books in one or you can read them as two separate books! I told you I was a bit of an over achiever.
I always like to end a blog entries with an applicable quote, "Good children's literature appeals not only to the child in the adult, but to the adult in the child."

If ever there was a place I feel at peace with myself it's here at home on our farm in North Carolina! It keeps me grounded, rejuvenated and blissfully happy. My first love of course is my husband, kids and grandchild, the second is horses! To celebrate the second day of Spring I saddled up my horse and took a two hours ride, alone. As we brushed by the blooming trees and daffodil yellow forsythia bushes, it reminded me of a quote by Joanna Baillie "This pure air Braces the listless nerves, and warms the blood: I feel in freedom here." They say hope spring eternal. I hope everyone embraces their new beginnings and flourishes anew in spirit and hope.
I've added a few of my favorite photos.
Here's something you may not know about Grandmaw; she is a writer and published author. My first book "A Hot Dog Stand in the Himalayas" was published last year and I'm proud to say is doing quite well. If you are a parent or a grandparent you will relate to the characters and find yourself nodding and smiling at the similarities the characters and you share. The book follows the special relationship of a grandmom and her granddaughter, Sammie. The saying "It is, if you believe it is!" is a direct quote from my real granddaughter and used throughout my book. Currently, I'm working on my second book and have finished writing and illustrating a children's book. All my stories are wholesome and family friendly so everyone can enjoy them! If you are interested in knowing more about my publications, visit, Authorhouse.com just type in the name of my book in the search area!

Howdy from North Carolina! Folks are always tellin' me I've got an opinion on 'bout everythin' and anythin'! So, it just made good sense for me to become a member of "Viewpoints." If'n you need learnin' on any products, TV, electronics, [yes, this Grandmaw is a computer geek], or just about anything I'll be tickled pink to give you my two cents worth of feedback. I might throw in a jar of homemake jam to boot. Like my grandpap always told me, "it don't cost nothin' to give yer opinion." But in this electronic age you can get points for 'em! So let's comence to writing reviews, making new friends and having fun!
xoxo,
Grandmaw
