Affordable, but not powerful

I recieved this system as a gift. I like it, was easy to hook up and the retail price is impressive, but I would not have bought it myself. The system is not very powerful and even at full blast is not loud enough for my liking. I do like the fact that it does not have huge speakers to be scattered all over the living room. Would be great for a kids room, just not the ideal set up for a movie or music lover who wants to really hear what they are listening to.
