I can see clearly now the cable's gone!!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I was with Time Warner Cable for 14 years and enjoyed the services because I was all about having basic cable. Where I live (in the woods) I need cable or satellite just to bring in local networks because I am in a wooded area that runs interference with the broadcasting towers and doesn't allow me to receive good reception. I was always pretty content with TWC because like I said I was all about the basics. But TWC kept raising their rates and I soon found myself paying $80 a month just for basic cable.

Well, this creature of habit decided she needed to step out of her comfort zone and make some changes so I parted with my cable friend and hooked up with DirecTV in January of this year....

Like having a dishwasher in a bottle

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have been a loyal fan of Dawn dishwashing liquid for years but several months ago to try to save money I started buying various brands of dish liquid and I found out that it's not good to cut corners. So, a few weeks ago when it was time to get another bottle I knew I was going back to Dawn.

While at Walmart I noticed a bottle of navy blue Dawn on the shelf and the label Power Clean got my attention. It said, "Overnight soaking power in 5 minutes." I popped the cap and it smelled wonderful, like fabric softener.

I was able to put this new Dawn to the test a few days later when I baked the Duggar Family Tater Tot Casserole for the first time. I had used a nonstick spray on the bakin...

Tiny air freshener that refreshes in a big way!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Sandy and I have a birthday tradition. We get together in April for her birthday and May for mine. We set aside one night to exchange gifts because we are so excited we don't want to just give the gifts. We want to spend time with the other and see her open the gifts.

This year we did my birthday celebration on a Monday night and I went to the parsonage to open gifts before going out to eat at Travinia's. One of the gifts Sandy gave me was a Slatkin & Co. (Bath and Body Works) ScentPortable air freshener in a Sweet Pea fragrance. I didn't know until I came online to locate a picture that you could get refills for these little containers. The ScentPortables come in various des...

Yardley Lemon Verbena bath soap smells great & moisturizes too!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Any time I hear about Lemon Verbena I automatically think of Laura Ingalls when she fell in love with the Lemon Verbena perfume that Ms. Beatle wore.  I often wondered what Lemon Verbena smelled like.  I once found a bottle of Lemon Verbena body wash at Ross's but it just didn't seem to be all that great.  Then the other week I was at The Dollar Tree][1] and I came across a collection of Yardley London bath soaps.  That made me think of my friend [TunefulGal here because she wrote a review on a Yardley London soap once.  If my memory serves me corectly I think it was on an English Lavendar variety.  I remember because when she was talking about how to fin...

Bodycology Coconut Lime is a wonderful bathtime experience!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have been looking for this specific scent from Bodycology for several months since I first found out it existed.  The other day my sister and I were out shopping and while at Walmart we ended up in the health and beauty aisles.  We meandered down the aisle where the bathing products were and I came upon the Bodycology collection and there in front of me was the Coconut Lime.  I just had to have it!  My sister knew that I just invested over a hundred dollars during the holidays at Bath and Body Works on Twilight Woods but I still wanted this.  I am always trying out new shower gels.  I use them in abundance and go through bottles quickly. I got a 16 fl. oz. bot...

Nice and smooth but the glitter irritated my lips.

Overall

I was in the Dollar Tree one day with my sister and nephew.  We were shopping for goodies to put in the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and I wanted to put various hygiene products in the boxes so we went to the health and beauty aisle.  While there I began looking at the various lip balms and lip glosses and being the addict that I am I decided to pick up a few for myself.  One that I got was the donna MICHELLE plum scented moisturizing Lip Gloss with Beeswax and Vitamin C & E.

I was initially drawn to this specific one because of the color.  During the fall and winter I love wearing the plum colors.  This is a rich burgundy purplish ...

Last week I was needing to buy more deodorant and while at Walmart ][1] I decided I would get some more [Lady Speed Stick because I had really good results with that.  But then a line of Degree Girl Anti-Perspirant Deodorants caught my eye and yes, it was the name of one specific fragrance that really got my attention.  ****

Degree Girl Just Dance Invisible Solid Anti-Perspirant Deodorant is one of 3 different fragrances for active girls.  Just Dance has the perfect design that looks like it belongs in a teenager's locker, dance/sport bag, and so forth.  I love the scent.  It's a nice clean aroma with a mixture of raspberries and strawberries.&nbsp...

I had 2 get used to this but I still prefer my L'Oreal mascaras.

Overall

Several months ago I noticed a lot of mascaras being put on the shelfs and they were in big bold bright-colored tubes.  It was almost impossible not to notice them because they weren't your typical slim-cased mascara.  Maybelline had the Falsies Volum' Express (purple tube) and Colossal (yellow) and Cover Girl had the Lash Blast (orange tube).  I kept noticing these mascaras and wondering what the big hype was and then I started noticing the large number of reviews that these were getting on Viewpoints][1] .  One day while reading some of Lopine's reviews I came across the Maybelline Falsies Volum' Express mascara.  You can read her review [here.  ...

About 2 or 3 months ago one of my older brothers gave me his Hewlett Packard laptop.  I was wanting a laptop so I could write reviews while sitting in front of the TV.  However, his laptop is coded with his IP address and it will not acknowledge my broadband service in my home so I can't get online yet.  But I am still able to enjoy the laptop.

I have been playing a lot of my PC games on it, like Return To Ravenhearst][1] .  I've also been able to write reviews for [Viewpoints and save them to a flashdrive and then post them from the PC in my study.

Lopine will tell you that I have recently gotten re-addicted to my hidden objects mystery games and have spe...

A great baby seat that encourages good posture.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I had seen the **Bumbo Baby Sitter **in stores for several years and was fascinated with the design yet a little skeptical about the functionality of this odd looking seat.  Then about 18 months ago my best friend had a situation come up that alarmed her but she wasn't sure what to do.  Her youngest grandson, Caleb, was about 7 or 8 months at the time and he wasn't making any effort to crawl.  The pediatrician encouraged his parents to do tummy time with him several times a day so that he would be forced to learn how to lift his head up and support it.  Well, he would tolerate tummy time but when placed in a carrier or on the floor on his back he still showed no ...

Must be a hit when a teen can recommend a 'no-name.'

Overall

I am the proud auntie of 5 beautiful nieces and nephews.  They range in age from 10-23.  My two oldest nephews, Jonathan (almost 18) and Marcus (16) have turned into some handsome looking teenagers and are very active ones.  When I moved back to SC in '93 I moved back home with my parents for 4 years.  Well, my younger sister was also moving back and forth with her 2 boys so I got to help raise them.  I bought my first home in '97 and Marcus had just turned 3 and Jonathan would soon be 5.  I stocked up my guest bath with everything I could imagine those 2 little boys would need for personal hygiene.  They had soap, bubble bath, children's shampoo, baby powd...

A reputable name that cleans great and smells wonderful.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

When I reviewed the Kelgar Snug-Tub Ocean Friends Bath I mentioned some of the bathing products Marilyn used with her 1-year-old granddaughter.  It's no surprise that a first-time mother would choose to use a product by Johnson & Johnson.  I always remember seeing the baby powder and the original pink baby lotion in my home growing up and to this day I still love both of those products.  Johnson's is a reputable company and their products will stand the test of time and be passed along from one generation to the next.

Johnson's Honey Apple Baby Wash is a relatively new scent on the market.  The following description is on the back of the bottle:

Gives more comfort & security when bathing a toddler.

For Marilyn one of the greatest joys of being a Grammy is visiting with with her 1-year-old granddaughter every weekend.  She kept hoping that the day would come that her son and daughter-in-law would let her have the grandbaby overnight and she feels that may be just around the corner.  The last time they came to her house they brought a portable crib, not a travel style but a standard, set up and leave style.  They also brought some other things that made Marilyn believe they were slowly getting used to the idea of their little girl, their firstborn staying somewhere for the first time without her mommy and daddy.Marilyn and I kept her granddaughter for an entire day a few w...

This was one of the other products I was making reference to when I reviewed the Gerber Graduates Mixed Berries Yogurt Melts**.  **I said that Marilyn had several snack items that I had never seen or heard of.  Obviously her children trying to go a natural or organic route because many of the snacks were just that.

The package looks like a Caprisun with a screw-on lid.  I kept staring at it trying to figure out what it was.  Marilyn said that her daughter-in-law said all she would have to do is remove the lid and her granddaughter would eat the contents straight from the package.  Well, I wasn't so sure about a child wanting to eat sweet potatoes, pumpkins, ap...

Toddlers love them and they're a great snack choice.

Overall

I never heard of the **Gerber Graduates Mixed Berries Yogurt Melts **until I was at Marilyn's the other weekend.  After her granddaughter woke up from her nap Grammy had to give her a snack.  Marilyn pulled out every snack that her daughter-in-law packed!  I didn't recognize any of them but her granddaughter sure did love them.

The **Gerber Graduates Mixed Berries Yogurt Melts **look like little morsels that you use for cookies.  They're a soft purplish color and have a sweet berry taste but they're healthy.  The little morsels basically melt in the child's mouth so you don't really need to worry about a choking hazard although I wouldn't leave a 12-month ...
