This movie is a version of the 300 Spartans story that comes from a comic book by Frank Miller. Now why Frank Miller had to deviate from the historical story which is interesting enough itself is a question that occurred to me. If he were going to tell a different story, why didn't he just make it up. Any ten year old boy who liked playing war would know enough about the 300 Spartans to know the Persians were not Africans, yet that's what Xerxes was. He also was festooned with enough strings of gold chain, piercings, and face makeup that his sexual orientation was questionable.... review »
