Even though I have never been in the United States Navy nor have any relatives who have done so, I have always had more than a passing interest In almost all things naval, including the evolution of warships and naval tactics, famous battles and/or campaigns, and biographies of famous naval officers such as John Paul Jones and Chester W. Nimitz.
Of course, because I'm a big World War II buff I tend to be more interested in books and movies that tackle the topics of modern naval warfare, and one of the types of warships that fascinates me is the submarine.
