We bought this bike for my seven year old last year for his birthday. He had never had a bike before just a tricycle and then "big wheel" type riding toys. However, he wanted a big boy bike that came with training wheels but that could have those same wheels easily removed. I bought it at toys r us but I did not have them put it together. We had actually looked at "real" schwinns at bike stores but the sallest they sold was 20" which was just to big for my short child.
