I originally came from NW Ohio where cable TV ruled and it was good. Then we moved to SE Ohio, in the hills, and I found out what a difference in cable companies could mean.
After seven years of terrible cable service, high prices, and frequent outages (sometimes for over 8 hours when it rained), we got Directv in 2000. I couldn't be more thrilled! Clear pictures, good customer service, clear & concise monthly bills and rare, extremely short disruptions of service when it storms.
Besides the numerous channels that we didn't have with cable, I rarely have had to call with a techinical problem...
