Creative Zen has numerous MP3 players to choose from, ranging from it's functional 1GB all the way to its 30GB  Their Creative Zen V Plus won CNET Editor Choice Award.

I gave my husband the 2gb Creative Zen V Plus a few years ago for his birthday.  All I wanted was a small device for him to record music to listen to on planes or when he goes to the gym.  I also didn't want to break the bank and it had to be simple to use as he is definitely not into reading 20 pages!  But most important, he doesn't download music, he wanted to record from his own cds and records.
