It's a cold, windy, blustery day today. I'm at home all alone for the first time in months. My husband is off on a job interview...God, please let him be hired! The kids are all at school and I'm just sitting here trying to catch up with my writing and reviewing.
The holidays are nearing...so I'm making lists already. I love this time of year, but too, I'm dreading it. I know there are many birthdays, parties and family get together's on the horizon and very little cash to spread the "cheer" with. Although I know it's not the "money" that makes it grand, but sometimes it would just be nice to not have to worry how we'll pay for everything.
Just glad we're pulling through this economic crisis and making ends meet. Really glad!
Just stopping by. It's been a month since my last blog... still haning in there, but still no luck with Hubby finding work. Kids are all back in school, Fall is setting in and I'm excited about our first Fall/Winter back in the Northwest.
I've lost 21 pounds and getting back into shape. It's a slow process, but one I'm actually enjoying. I joined SparkPeople back in June and it's was the best decision ever.
Just a vent-
I don't even really know where to begin this... I'm not real good at throwing out my opinions or writting about stuff that involves alot of fact finding and all that...but I'm getting so annoyed that I had to vent somewhere.
This thing we as a nation are dealing with, the economic crisis, gets worse and worse as the days go by. I hear on the news, read in the papers, online...every bloody where that people are still loosing their jobs, people are still loosing their homes, business are still having to close and have gone bankrupt. WHY? What the hell is that man, those idiot people voted in, doing?
I understand it hasn't even been a month since he took office, and things always get worse before they get better. But come the heck on! I see no way that this economic stimulus package he keeps throwing out at us, is going to help us. It's throwing good money after bad and it's NOT going to solve anything or get this country out of the crisis it's in. WHY, WHY, WHY can't anybody see that?
Anyway, I'm stewing over the housing market for the most part. All this talk over bailout plans and giving money to all these damn companies is really pissing me off. When what would help us out of this crisis, I believe, is to fix the housing market first. If the damn government would bail out the people of the U.S.A by giving us the power to pay off our mortgages, the bloody banks would have their stinking money back and in the process, money would be flowing, which in my opinion, would help the economic growth of this country. But NO, them ugly, beaurocratic, idiots in Washington and Congress would rather bail out those corrupt, money grubbing, greedy, SOB, executives in those banks and companies, rather than bail out the people who matter most in this country. The American workers and their families.
If we could fix the housing market, we could fix the job loss. If we fixed the job loss, people would be able to pay their bills. If people were able to pay their bills...there wouldn't be an economic crisis going on in this country. I mean, I know I'm a layman. I'm a peasant. Heck, me, myself...I'm just a stay at home mom...so what the hell do I know, right? Well, let me tell you... I run my home. And when one thing is out of place or not working right...the whole damn place goes to hell. Just like running a country! The bottom fell out of the housing market, and now the rest is crumbling like a line of dominos.
So instead of shelling out this almost a trillion dollars... how the hell much is a trillion dollars anyway?, why can't the government issue every American holding a mortgage(s) a check for let's say, $250,000 (that's the average amount owed on a mortgage. I realize some may be higher, some lower). We home owners could then pay off our mortgages, and/or credit card debts. The banks would get their money.
I understand there is alot more to the economic issue than just the housing market. Businesses need tax breaks inorder to afford to hire people. Which would get the job loss under control. In turn, people being able to work, would then bring home a paycheck to keep paying their bills. Do you see where the cycle is going?
Well, like I said, I'm not good with words or how to express myself with these kinds of issues. But I had to get it off my chest. I really don't see how Obama's plan is going to help anyone.
We need jobs, we need to pay our bills and we need homes. We can't pay our bills or for our homes without work. We can't work, when there are no jobs available or the businesses can't afford to hire people because they're being taxed to death. And without work, we can't pay our bills or for our homes. If we can't pay our bills or for our homes, we become homeless. It's a vicious cycle that will never end, if someone doesn't figure it out and stop it. Stop the politics and start caring about the people!
Oh, wait! I know... We can all live on welfare and live off the government. They can pay for our food (food stamps), they can pay for our doctors (medicaid/medicare), they can pay for our housing (homeless shelters or dumpsters. Me, I'd prefer a cardboard box on the beach please!) and our children can all eat free at school ( free lunch program. Oh, but that's only if your child is one of the lucky ones whose school hasn't been shut down due to lack of funding.) Shall I continue?...
Happy New Year. God, pray 2009 will be better than 2008, but I don't hold out much hope right now. The jobless rate is soaring... my own husband can't find work for anything! It's a sad sad time in the USA right now... I hope there's an end soon.
Now that the holidays are over and my life has somewhat gone back to normal with kids back in school, I can start reviews again.
I will be more involved in the future. I'm still not 100% in-to this political garb, and I'm not willing to be labled as a "republican" or "democrat"... I think of myself as a Conservative/Liberal Republican. Some may think I'm contridictory in my beliefs, and I may very well be...BUT...I do know I want my Country back! I want God back in and these Liberal idiots OUT! I'm all for making things fair for people of all color, race, ethinicity, religion and beliefs, But damn it..NOT to the extent that it takes away everything I believe in, what I was raised to believe in and what this country was built on. They come to this country for a better life, then by God, they'd better live by what America was built on and quit trying to change it to their ways of life! They can have their privacy and their beliefs in their own home, but DO NOT amend the amendments to suit you... NO!
I'm all for finding ways to save the earth. I don't like that Global Warming is happening faster and faster, BUT there is NO WAY TO STOP IT. It's a fact of life, the circle of history and science. It's going to happen whether we want it too or not. Finding ways to preserve our precious resources is important, BUT we HAVE to find a compromise to save America as well. We need to be energy efficient and independent. We MUST quit relying on other people and countries to give us engergy, fuel and goods. We've got to go back to being INDEPENDENT and take care of ourselves. That is why we celebrate July 4th...is it not? Because we became Independent from the British, to do, be and become what we wanted without someone telling us no... that's what I was taught growing up. How about you?
Everyone has gotten sucked in to this power, greed and abuse of our "freedoms" that our ancestors fought so hard and died for... and this is how we, as American citizens, repay them? I'm ashamed of what we've become...but it's not too late, we can go back to the way things were. Evolution is great, but don't take away the foundation...without it, we will crumble and collapse. Right now America is cracked and unstable... Do you really want to see our great nation fall?
I want my children, my childrens' children and so on to have the Great America that was started way back Centuries ago, what our Fore-Fathers fought and died for to give us a "Free" Nation.
GIVE ME BACK MY COUNTRY! I will pray and fight whomever I have too, to get it back.
Thank you!
Well, it's been a while since my last blog... Hmmm... I've been through so much this year that I don't even know where to begin.
Summer was a bust, I don't even remember having "summer" it went by that quick! My oldest son moved away. He's living in my old home town going to school and working. He was finding out that living in a big city was a bit challenging and was headed down a path I felt he wasn't ready for... so we made the decision to send him to live with my sister, where he could find work and go to school where values and morals of a small town would rub off on him. So far so good on that front.
My husband lost his job just a month ago. And to find work and bring in some money he had a friend pull strings to get him a job working for a flood restoration company and was in Texas right after Hurricane Ike hit. He was down there for 3 1/2 weeks cleaning and helping Houston/Galveston get back to somewhat normal status. He is now back home and hoping to find a job here. Good luck with that! Not the way this economy is...
Beyond all the drama, everyone is healthy and staying strong. We have God guiding us and our Faith will see us through these trying times. That's about it for this blog...
