I bought this about 20 months ago, and from the time I got it there was on/off static.  Which is REALLY annoying when you're trying to sleep.  I got to the point where I would turn it off at night.  Then I noticed the unit getting abnormally hot.  I woke up one morning to find it melted, and still sucking power from the wall.  I called Summer and was told it was my fault.  (Not the case.)  They said they would send me a refurbished unit for $70.  Fine.  11 days later the replacement arrived - and it was packaged poorly.  It was visably used (scratches all over it), and this one didn't...
