Mucinex DM worked great for me. Live in Houston Tx and we recently had some particles in the air that really got to me. I had serious congestion and a horrible cough. Immediately after taking Mucinex DM, my coughs became more productive in that mucas just didn't stay stubbornly stuck in my throat like it had so many times before. I usually get this cough about once a year and before Mucinex it lasted about a month! Now it last about a week maybe a week and a half if its a bad one.
