In April 2007, the company I work for switched to Blue Cross/Blue Shield for medical insurance. I was skeptical of medical insurance companies as a whole due to less than productive experiences with the company we were using at the time. However, a couple of weeks after signing up with BCBS, my husband had a major medical emergency. The customer service representatives for BCBS were very helpful when the claims began rolling in.
