I got my "Ricky" my blue & gold Macaw when he was 7 weeks old, still being baby fed-Baby Macaw Zupreem formula. I asked the breeded for a reccomendation on foods and she said stay with Zupreem. When Ricky was weened we started with cherrios, soft fruits, grains,etc.. I started putting Fruity Zupreem in the cage.We have seen 2 exotic vets and both said zupreem was great and Ricky is very healthy. At 1st after weening I wasn't seeing him eat the Zupreem but it was vanishing- of course he was playing and dropping some of it. I walked in the room one day and caught him chowing down on the Zupreem, he immediatly stopped eating. I don't know why he didn't want to be seen eating Zupreem at first, he ate anything else in front of me. Anyway Ricky loves his Zupreem now and will eat in front of anyone. I couldn't find his Zupreem once and he flat refused to eat the substitute, had to feed him "people food that day" The next day I got a bag of his fruity Zupreem and he chowed down as soon as I put his food down.
