Most of the nutrition bars from Zone Perfect have a delicious chocolate coating to the outside but even with all of the flavor choices eventually you can get burned out with chocolate and almonds, chocolate and pecans, chocolate and peanut butter. The Chocolate Mint bar is in their regular series and is 1.76 ounces. It has a light mint taste to it so it isn't as strong as eating a Peppermint Pattie but it is a nice break from the regular bars. Each bar contains 210 calories, 7 grams of fat, 24 grams of carbohydrates and 14 grams of protein. When you consider that a chicken breast contains about 30 grams of protein, having one of these bars between meals or as a snack is a better pick than a bag of chips and can help with recovery after a workout when your body needs a protein kick. The bars are foil wrapped so they stay fresh on the shelf but you are going to want to check the date on the bottom of the wrapper on the flap to make sure you are getting something that is fresh. Abbott Laboratories does have a satisfaction guarantee on their bars and if you ever purchase some that are out of date they will send you replacement coupons for them. Overall the taste of the Chocolate Mint bar is excellent; it isn't something that is strong or overpowering so you are still getting the chocolate taste from it. My boys like to cut one of these up and add it to ice cream instead of using crushed cookies and I have to admit, they had a great idea with that and when you add it to a chocolate chip or chocolate mint ice cream you are in for a heavenly treat.
