Most HelpfulAbout two months ago I was at the doctor's office having my yearly womanly tests and just started crying my eyes out. Not because of the annoying, invasive tests, but because the questions my doctor had asked me just brought the emotions of a really bad year to the surface. This, of course, concerned...

I was one of those miserable, angry,at the world people, for no good reason. My earliest memories are filled with gloom and hate. Now, looking back on my life, I don't know how my family put up with me.I was always fighting mad.
Anyway, after my father died when I was 40,my doctor put me on Zoloft. I didn't notice any difference in my temperament for the first 4 months. My boss noticed first, saying that I wasn't as sarcastic and short with customers. Then my boyfriend said that I wasn't "so snappy" anymore.

I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of SSRIs. I think my reluctance to take this type of medication is the result of not having depression, but an anxiety disorder. Prior to taking Zoloft, I was on Luxox, or fluvoxamine, which I found to be incredibly ineffective for anxiety. After a month of bad dry mouth, restlessness, and insomnia, I decided to go back to my doctor to discuss alternative treatments.

read full review »I've been taking Zoloft for about 3 months at 200mg a day, for depression. With Zoloft at first the side-effects were tough. My jaw was extremely tight and achy. I had to buy a mouth guard which did help relieve the pressure some. Luckily that side-effect only lasted for about the first week. Also, I was having sexual side-effects. Lacking desire, and the inability to achieve orgasm. I decided to try taking my pills in themorning, rather than at night like I had been doing. After a couple of days past on with my new schedule, the sexual side effects subsided and I'm back to normal with that....

Zoloft has been an absolute lifesaver for me. I have been on the medication about 10 years. Before starting Zoloft - every little thing got under my skin and made me mad. I had no patience for my children, and when I lost my temper I would be screaming at the top of my lungs. They started me off on the lower doses of the medicine (25 mg.) but over time the dosage has increased to 200 mg. a day. That may seem like a lot, but I'm a different person when taking the medicine - don't argue my point, more patience for my kids. When my husband or kids start to argue with me, instead of trying...
