I received the Zojirushi Bread Machine for Christmas from my mom in 2006.  I had used a west bend bread maker for about 7 years previously, but the little belt finally wore out on the bottom, so into the trash it went.  I am a serious bread maker, so after doing online research the Zo seemed the way to go.  I mostly use it for making dough, be it bread or pizza crust.  At first I made the entire loaf in the machine, but even though it boasts that it makes a normal looking and shaped loaf, to me the crust was still too tough, even using the low setting.  I like to make all the bread we use, and having crusts too thick my family just didn't want to use it for everyday sandwiches and the like.  I decided to try making the bread dough just using the dough setting, and then taking the dough out and putting it in a regular pan and finishing in the oven.  That's the way I've been doing it for over a year now. In fact, it's been a year since I've actually cooked a loaf in it.  I really like the preheating feature so I dont have to find the thermometer to measure the temp of the water or milk.  In fact, I am so spoiled that when I went to my sister's and used her machine I whined at her that I actually had to measure the water temp!  It's also a little hard to clean all the "nooks and crannies" inside the pan, but I've found that a toothbrush works very well.  Overall, I wish it made a more palatable loaf, but for making dough it can't be beat!
