I freeze a lot of fresh vegetables after I clean them and sort them according to size; some of them are used within a few weeks and some are used during the winter. I like the way that these bags protect food from developing freezer burn but if you take a little extra time to lay them flat while they are freezing it can end up saving you a lot of room when the bags are completely frozen. These are slightly thicker than the regular storage bags so you are going to want to make sure that you store them someplace other than the kitchen cabinet so people don't reach for these when they are looking for a regular storage bag. I buy them when they are on sale or there is a multiple package deal; they are more convenient than using a vacuum sealer even though you don't have the option to create unique sizes. I like that the bags are clear so you can see exactly what is in them but there is a small section on the front that you can use to label the contents. Do that before you add anything to the bag so you don't run the risk of puncturing the bag. Use a permanent marker so that the ink is protected from fading or being rubbed off. If I have smaller pieces of chicken or pork I will use one of these to store them until I need them; if possible separate the pieces with wax paper or freezer paper so they can be defrosted quicker. The only problems I have had with these bags is not having them seal completely or having them get punctured by something in the freezer but that's human-error and not the fault of the bag.

These bags are made of a very thick plastic that will not let your meats get those nasty frozen burns. Not only that, they seal with a double strip of ziplock zipper technology, not letting any cold air into the bag, giving you extra protection against the freezer burns and any funny smell acquired during storage. My only quip would be the limited size of the bags in a box. I wish that there were more sizes available per box, but at the same time, meats could be arranged in a way to make up for the large or small size. For instance, the large bags may be great for 6 boneless chicken breast, but not for 3. Or 3 steaks, but not for just one. The solution to this is to buy more than one box of freezer bags. But if only Ziplock provided a combo of freezer bags, my life would be perfect.

Ziplock has come up with a system that keeps foods even fresher when you freeze it. The Ziplock Vacuum system is the reason for that. The startef kit comes equipped with a pump and three quart size bags.Each bag has a sort of hole in it. I say sort of hole because it does not allow food to escape through it. You simply attach the pump to the "hole." Then you use the pump to extract any air that is in the bag. The bag then has a vacuum seal, keeping you food fresh and preventing freezer burn. The pump requires NO batteries and it is easy to use. This system is a very economical way to maintain freshness and prevent freezer burn. Just keep in mind that the starter kit is a little pricey but after buying that, you will only need to purchase the bags. This system is a lot less expensive than the plastic containers you may be freezing in now and those containers do not provide a vacuum seal. I have really enjoyed my Ziplock Freezer Vacuum system and I highly recommend you to give it a try.

This is one of those products that many people have in their homes and for good reason. The bags are extremely convienient for holding leftovers and freezing meat. The bags help prevent freezer burn which is really nice, as you don't find out at the last minute when you're about to fix dinner that the food that you wanted to fix is not actually eatable. All of the bags come with a spot where you can write the date down on, which is really handy for keeping track of what food has been in for how long. The bags are also handy in that they are a disposable way of storing food, in case you didn't want to have to worry about dishes later. These bags get 5 stars in my book and are always in stock in my house.

These are the best freezer bags I've ever bought. So cheap and easy to use, the vacuum system litttle pump thingy is the best. I was considering buying one of those expensive sealer things but am so glad that I didn't. I'm sure they're great but this is exactly what I needed and it does the job. I freeze a lot of stuff from fruit to meats to leftovers to use another time. With this system I don't ever have freezer burn and nothing tastes like anything else in the freezer. I used to double bag bananas when freezing them to prevent icy crystals from forming and everyhthing in my freezer tasting like bananas. Not with this system There is a handy little spot to write notes or the date on the outside of the bag so you know when you put it in the freezer (or what it is!). My favorite is to buy a block of cheese, grate it by hand, and then freeze it for later use. Don't buy the pre-grated kind, it's all coated in yucky junk!

I use Ziploc vacuum freezer bags all the time and would never go without them. My freezer always causes freezer burn, and I can't keep anything more than about two months if it isn't vacuum packed, so these work great for meat and vegetables. I buy meat when it's on sale and store it in the vacuum bags and so far I have never had any come open in the freezer, or any of the food get freezer burned. I also use them for cheese in the refrigerator, to keep it from getting moldy. I buy cheese in blocks and shred it as needed, and with these vacuum bags, I can shred what I need and vacuum seal the rest. When I need more, I just open the bag, use what I need, and reseal the rest. I have kept cheese fresh for several months in the refrigerator this way. I also use them for vegetables that I grow in the garden, especially green peppers. If I don't vacuum seal them they disflavor anything else that's close to it in the freezer, but when they're vacuum sealed, the flavors don't mix, and they keep for a long time. I have kept green peppers in the freezer from fall until almost spring time without them getting freezer burned. Totally love these bags!

Being short of kitchen space I did not want an electrical food saver device.This little handy dandy vacuum food sealer is wonderful.You buy only a box of bags anytime you may need them.I don't really think people know this item is available.I have gotten many people to try it and they love it too.Your food stays better than the store bought frosen items which we all know is not packaged very well. The little pump is so handy and can fit right in your utensil drawer in the kitchen.I have used it over 2 years now I believe.I get the big packs of hamburger and wrap them in saran wrap then when they are frozen I take them out and put them in the big gallon size and seal them up again..I take out what I need and reuse the bag. A really terrific money saver!You can't really have a pint size as you need room for the pump to go on the bag to get the air out.Im happy with the sizes they have

I love these vacuum bags! Not only are the somewhat easier to use thn a Foodsaver system... and less expensive but they are very convienent to use and pull out when you need to freeze something quickly.... and airtight! They are very easy to use.. Just fill...seal and vacuum the air out with the included pump. These bags are also great for marinating and just like a foodsaver system you can pull out the air and pull the marinade into the meat or protein you are using and these bags take up far less room them a foodsaver system. They are are also very nice when you need to vacuum pack items that need to be waterproof. I do this for my son's toiletries and items that he does not want to get wet on his Boy Scout camping trip... Keeps them airtight until needed and waterproof as well!!! You can also place photos in the bags and preserve them and pack them away! Ziploc Vacuum Bags are a great investment and helps save money on bulk purchasing a saving on freezer burner disasters.  They are a must have!!

This product was given to me by my husband for my birthday along with the mushrooms he picked when he went mushroom hunting.  When I checked the internet and found how to store these mushrooms, they suggested washing them and freezing them in bags.  After washing and cutting up pounds of mushrooms, putting them in the Ziplock Freezer Vacuum Bags really made it kind of fun.  It was like working on an assembly line and before we knew it, we were all zipped up.  After bragging about how nice and flat they will store and how they fluff up after you open the bag up, our friends and family were taking our bags with them.  I bought a few for gifts and have now started my kids in the habit of "zipping".  They are great for storing bricks of cheeses which taste better and cost less than the shredded types.  I keep the bags and vaccuum in an easy access drawer and hear it being used frequently.  I love it for the veggies like peppers, onions and lettuce which usually go bad if not quickly used.  It is great for bulk ground beef and stores the meat flat in the freezer and has an area for the date.  Great product.

I recently purchased the Ziplock Vacuum bags with a coupon that I had.  I wasn't sure how well these would work but I was impressed.  The pump really did get all the air out of the bag.  The first bag I tried though wouldn't seal right.  There must have been something wrong with that one because the other ones I have used worked great.  As far as freezer burn is conserned, my food hasn't been in the freezer very long so I don't know how well they will hold up to that.
