Zam Zam is a jewel of a niche restaurant/bakery which has a variety of fun Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.
It is designed to be a place where you can eat dinner, and even smoke a Middle Eastern Hooka or waterpipe while waiting for your food. Even though it is a smoking restaurant, the smells of scented and fruity tobacco are not annoying, since the place is well vented, and it gives the restaurant a very exotic quality.
The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, and adorned with a variety of Middle eastern decoration, including rugs, drapes, Hookas of various types and sizes and cookware.
The food is the closest to home made food that you will find in a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant and is prepared by the mother and father who own this place. Their son works as the waiter.
The menu includes a variety of great meat dishes, including Gyros meat dinners, Kefta ( a type of spiced hamburger), chicken and beef kabobs, and meat pies.
There is also a variety of salads, a appetizer called Falafel which is made like a veggie meatball, and some of the best and lightest pita bread in Oklahoma City.
If you prefer to just have coffee, this restaurant has some amazing Turkish coffee, which is similar to expresso, but very fresh, in that the coffee beans are ground just before the coffee is made, and are used in the coffee itself, by being ground very fine.
The Baklava and other exotic desserts are interesting to try by themselves or after a meal, and you can get desserts to go, or an entire meal to go, if you wish.
There is a big screen television in this restaurant that is tuned to an arabic news channel and music channel, and adds to the feeling of being in another country when you are having your meal.
Overall I would say that this restaurant is a fun find and welcome change from the fast food grind.
