Much needed good nights sleep

5

I use to take another brand of prescribed sleeping pills. It made me wake up with a hang over feeling. I was then switched to Sonata. I never had any problems with it. One day though, it was changed to Zaleplon. Apparently, Sonata has bad side effects. I never felt any. Zaleplon helps put me to sleep immediately. It helps to keep me asleep through the night. I do not toss and turn. I wake up feeling refreshed. I do not always get 8 hours of sleep but most of the time, I am able to wake up without any difficulty. I only take Zaleplon as needed. Thankfully, I am not dependent on it. I mostly take it if I need to sleep right away. If I have a long day awaiting me. If I just need a sleep aid for when I'm laying it bed staring at the ceiling, I then take Melatonin, a natural herbal sleep aid. Zaleplon is the only prescription sleeping pill I take and will continue to take as long as it is available.

Great short-acting sleep medication

4

Oh, the problems I have sleeping! I am on three medications already for bipolar disorder, so i do not like to add sleep medications to the mix. It's just too many pills. I only take them when necessary. I have tried various medications (including an ill-fated try with [Ambien][1] ), but I end up with side effects, the main one being next-day grogginess. Zaleplon is the generic for a short-acting sleep medication called Sonata. Zaleplon comes in capsule form, can be used even if you only expect to get 4 hours of sleep, which sets it apart from most other prescription sleep aids. This is great if your issue is getting to sleep. If your issue is staying asleep then this product may not work so well for you. I usually use other "sleep hygiene" methods to try to sleep and aromatherapy and such, but if 3 am rolls around and I am still not asleep, I turn to Zaleplon. Not only does it help me sleep, but I wake up feeling rested. I also don't get that hung over feeling so many other sleep medications have given me. On other medications, I have sleepwalked, gotten headaches, and woken up with a terrible taste in my mouth that not even brushing could get rid of. I have had none of those side effects with Zaleplon. Zaleplon is not known to be addictive. I take it on an as needed basis, so I don't worry about it. Even in its generic form, Zaleplon is one of the more pricey prescription sleep meds out there. If you've only got short time to spare for sleep, or for stubborn occasional insomnia, I say Zaleplon (Sonata) is a product worth trying.
