Yves Rocher's Monoi de Tahiti Traditional Gardenia Oil is one of my favorite beauty products.  I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet!

Planted near the steps of our deck in Atlanta was a small gardenia bush that would give me the gift of flowers once a year. It wasn't as generous as the azaleas or dogwoods but what it didn't provide in quantity it more than made up for in fragrance. I loved sitting in the screened-in porch nearby and having the breeze send the lovely scent my way. Greedily, I would often cut a few blossoms and bring them into the house. They filled the whole downstairs with a taste of the tropics. Sadly, gardenias don't grow in Upstate, New York. With a touch of nostalgia I saw this product in the Yves Rocher catalog and decided to order it.

It was love at first sniff. The oil is made of 50% genuine Monoï of Tahiti and has coconut oil and gardenia flower in it as well.

Uses:

It is a rich oil that moisturizes skin and hair.
Dab a TINY bit into your palm and run it through your hair for incredible shine.
It makes a great tanning aid as well if you have darker skin or have a great tan base.
Don't use it if you are fair and lily white skinned as you will fry.
[but you will smell great doing it]
Pour a capful in the tub as it fills and slip into a bath of unbelievable silkiness. Your skin will love you for it and reward you with softer, more subtle skin.
Use it after shaving, as a massage oil or even to bring out the shine in your Yorkie's fur!

Bottom Line:
The 3.4 ounce glass bottle will last forever. The normal $15 price tag is a bit much but it goes on sale often so watch for it. The fragrance is not for the faint of heart or nose sensitive individuals.  It is strong; strong enough to be intoxicating in fact, but, if you love the smell of gardenias as much as I do this oil is a must. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Tip:

One cold winter my oil turned cloudy and almost solidified.  I thought it was ruined but as soon as the room warmed up the oil returned to normal.

I am no longer a fan of the site where I used to shop all the time. The prices went up and many of the items were mehhhh. There are a few things I do like at Yves Rocher though and I do go back for those (and the free gifts. Ha!).

I don't like florals as a rule but I like gardenia and lilac scents. I know I have gardenia products from there because I recall the packaging. I completely forgot to look for it. lol.

Since you don't care for floral fragrances you may not like this. It is very strong... I like the smell though and it doesn't bother me.

;-) My Mom orders from their catalog all of the time. I'll add a few things to her order once in a while. I have found a couple products I really like but I ordered some kind of face cream in a red container that broke my face out almost immediately. Yves Rocher was good to let me return it but I have not been as experimental since then.

I think I have this! I made a huge order from there for Christmas and I am almost positive I ordered this. How sad is it that I have all this stuff not even touched and don't even know what the stuff is? I am going to go through my stuff and see....
