I really enjoy this Product

I really like this soap. I use it for when I have gotten into poison ivy since I camp a lot. I also use it when I have a sunburn. It seems to take the burn out.

Lovely Scent, But Maybe Not Be Best For Sensitive Skin

3

I love the scent of Yardley of London's Oatmeal and Almond Bar Bath! It is so sweet and calming -- like a lullaby itself. For this reason, I especially enjoy using the bar when taking a bath. The scent alone helps to make the bath a relaxing and enjoyable experience. But I will say, however, that Yardley of London's Oatmeal and Almond Bar Bath does make my skin feel itchy from time to time. It is far better than say Dove, but it is still not perfect, either. Because of this reason, I recommend this product cautiously. I still prefer certain moisturizing body washes instead. Nevertheless, the scent itself still earns this product a place in my showering and bathing routine from time to time! Effectiveness I would say that Yardley of London's Oatmeal and Almond Bar Bath is effective in the sense that it makes you feel clean and refreshed. But it's not entirely effective, at least for me, because it sometimes leaves my skin feeling itchy afterwards. Scent The scent is truly lovely. It is sweet, but in a good way. Definitely not overpowering. It is especially great for a bath, as I mentioned earlier.

Yardley of London Oatmeal & Almond Bath Bar

5

I am British, born and bred, and I first discovered the Yardley range of natural soap bars when I lived in the United Kingdom. My sister collected bars of soap and she told me that Yardley's of London Oatmeal & Almond Bath Bar smelt so good, she didn't want to actually use it. Instead, she kept it in a drawer for decades, she said, because it made her clothes smell nice! I am not one for "pausing" on life's little luxuries so in the airport departure lounge, I perused the full range of Yardley soaps because I wanted to purchase a product which was quintessentially English before relocating to America. This soap was unlike any other soap I had used before mainly because it is actually infused with the real deal - oatmeal! The oatmeal acts as an exfoliant on your skin which, at first, I wasn't sure I liked. It rather felt like a bar of soap which has been dropped in the sand and then used on your skin - kind of a bit scratchy, but it leaves your skin silky smooth and "refurbished". Now, I like the fact that it has these natural ingredients and although it is somewhat difficult to work up a lather because of the oatmeal, feel that the natural benefits far outweigh the drawbacks of a slow to lather soap. My husband loves these "natural" soaps and he is the first in line to try them out. I wouldn't recommend them for those with sensitive skin or eczema as I suspect it will irritate those with itchy patches.

Great for eczema or sensitive skin!

I was looking for a soap that was more natural for dry skin and for my eczema that can sometimes be bad. This soap works great for that. The soaps with the oatmeal in them seem to help a lot. The Yardley Oatmeal and Almond Bath soap works well with sensitive skin. It goes on well, lathers up and rinses off good. It leaves your skin feeling softer after you use it and doesn't dry it out or leave it feeling irritated. These bars of soap are nice because the oatmeal makes it feel like you are exfoliating your skin a little at the same time that you are cleaning it. This soap is a decent price and doesn't melt away easily in the shower/bath. This soap also smells really nice. The oatmeal and almond go well together. This scent would work for all members of the family. If you have sensitive skin or skin problems then this is definitely worth trying. Even if you have great skin this is just a good soap. Effectiveness This is a great soap for washing with and helping with sensitive skin. It also leaves your skin feeling great afterward. Scent The scent is pretty good.

I like the smell and natural ingrediants but still a bit drying.

I have sensitive skin prone to dryness, especially in the winter. Often after a shower my skin feels, dry, tight, and itchy. I've tried several soaps in my quest to eliminate this and one of the kinds I tried was Yardley. I hadn't heard anything about it but it was on sale on Friday buy one get one free so I figured why not? I liked the oatmeal and almond version because it was supposed to be moisturizing and good for sensitive skin. I did not have any adverse reactions to it and liked a lot of the natural ingredients it had. However, it did still have some drying harsh ingredients and still gave me that itchy tight feeling after I used it. It did have a nice scent and my husband who does not have sensitive skin was able to use it without any adverse effects so it was not a total loss. It just was not the miracle non drying soap that I was hoping for. I have since switched to Burts Bees bath soap which uses natural oils to cleanse without stripping the skin. This has been much better for my skin and I don't experience any itching or tightness with it.

Lovely soap!

I don't normally go for bar soaps (I just find them a little obnoxious - I am forever dropping and slipping on them or breaking them), but I received this soap as part of a housewarming gift. I was surprised by how much I liked it! It has a really lovely scent, very soothing and calming, and it left my skin feeling so very soft and moisturized. I really liked it. It also didn't leave behind that tight-feeling film like some bar soaps can, so that was a nice relief. Though I don't usually use bar soaps or purchase them, I would probably buy this again, either for my family or as a gift for someone else. Effectiveness This soap does a really nice job of cleaning while keeping your skin from drying out or feeling filmy. Scent I really love the scent of this soap! The perfume of it isn't too strong, but it leaves a nice, light, soothing scent. My little boy really liked it because of the oatmeal scent. Love it!

Works wonders!

I have been using this soap for at least 3 years now. I was having a problem with severe dry skin and cystic acne. This was the only thing I used and it worked! I had read that Oatmeal was good for cystic acne but I didn't have that much faith in a bar of soap I paid a buck for. To my surprise my skin is soft, healthy and completely clear. I have used a lot of products and have paid a lot of money for most. This is an incredible value for what it will do for your skin. I appreciate the small chunks of oatmeal in the bar that help exfoliate your skin. Without a doubt it is gentle enough to use on a daily basis. I would even recommend this as a daily facial regimen. I have always had good skin and have been fortunate to have never had acne. The cystic acne really spun me for a loop and I am so grateful to have found a product that is totally affordable and actually works. Scent I absolutely love the scent. The almond and oatmeal together is heavenly.

Gently exfoliates and smells great!

Most of the time, I use glycerin soap, because it's gentle and non-drying on my sensitive skin. Sometimes in the winter, though, I need something that also provides mild exfoliation. On a whim, I bought a Yardley of London Oatmeal & Almond Bath Bar, because I love almond-scented soaps and have had good luck with other colloidal oatmeal soaps. So far, this has worked very well to remove flaky patches and leave my skin looking healthier, without any irritation. Effectiveness I've been pleased by the mildness of my Yardley of London Oatmeal & Almond Bath Bar. It doesn't feel very abrasive, but it still manages to get rid of dead skin and make my face feel and look smoother. While it is non-drying, it isn't as moisturizing as I might like, but I've noticed that it makes my regular moisturizer go on better and absorb more quickly. Scent Yardley of London Oatmeal & Almond Bath Bar doesn't have as strong an almond scent as I might like, but it's still very pleasant.

Luxury soap that is affordable

5

I love buying Yardley soap from time to time. Yardley of London Oatmeal & Almond Bath Bar soap is a very nice luxurious soap at an affordable price. I don't normally use bar soaps but will use this one every now and then because it's an amazing soap. The scent is amazing, it has a light and sweet smell. I love that the oats in this soap help exfoliate my skin and leaves it feeling very soft. The soap lathers up well so you don't have to use much to get a good clean. I like this because the soap lasts a very long time which makes it a very valuable product. I have always loved the oatmeal and almond ingredients in soaps and this is no exception. I would recommend this soap to anyone who wants a soap that feels luxurious, smells nice, makes skin soft and is affordable. Effectiveness This soap does such an amazing job and cleaning my skin while leaving it very soft. Scent The light and sweet scent of this soap is amazing.

Especially boring bar of soap, but good price.

I use this bar primarily for hand soap; it is moisturizing enough for my hands but not enough for my body. Oatmeal and almond are not generally strong smelling, and in this bar the scent is mild, vaguely sweet, and pleasant. It has a decent but not plentiful lather. I can't use it for shaving. It is too mild for my boyfriend in the shower, but he likes a bar at the kitchen sink to wash his hands. This brand is already cheap, and even cheaper when it is on sale at my local pharmacies, which is frequently. The packaging made it seem nicer than it really is, in my opinion. This is not a luxury item and I would not give it as a gift. I will only buy it when I have coupons for it, I have no brand loyalty. The color of bar makes it seem more natural than it really is; the ingredients are not as hypo-allergenic or eco-friendly as I like. Oatmeal and almond are not actually major ingredients. I am unlikely to recommend this bar but I wouldn't warn someone away from it either.
