When I last visited my home town in the United Kingdom, I checked out a London Restaurant which strangely, had won a "Bathroom of the Year" award. Wanting to get the full experience, I checked out the bathroom which was hugely inviting, but what I loved most was the bar of soap at the vanity. It was my first experience of Fresh Aloe with Cucumber Essence from Yardley of London. I loved this soap so much, that I decided to purchase some at Heathrow on my may home. Yardley is a luxury spa experience in a soap! It looks expensive and feels exquisite on the skin. It is rich, creamy and lathers as easy as any soap I know. The fragrance, which is a delicate suggestion of cucumber, smells as fresh as an al fresco lunch on the veranda. Cucumber exudes a natural soothing quality as does Aloe, so you can expect your spa experience to be highly rejuvenating. I love that Yardley do not test on animals and that their products do not contain parabens. For this reason, I allow my son to use Yardley in spite of the fact that he suffers from eczema. It is wonderfully soothing for his skin and he benefits from using it regularly.

Excellence in another scent. Although this particular scent isn't my favorite -- that would be lavender -- that's just my preference, and has no bearing on the quality of this soap or its scent. You get the same excellent cleansing from this Yardley soap. Effectiveness This soap is just as effective as any other Yardley. It really works on any kind of skin and leaves no distasteful after effects. The aloe makes it nice and hydrating. I would say this soap might be best for combo skin, because the cucumber typically helps with oilier skin. So you get the best of both worlds here! Scent This soap gives you a true-to-life scent but is hardly overwhelming. This is perhaps the most gentle of the Yardley fragrances, and although not my favorite, is still a winner. If you really like any of the combination scents, I think you'll really be pleased with this one as well.

Yardley of London has to be my favorite soap, although I do keep Dove in the house too, because it is pure and fragrance free. When Len has skin cancers removed, that is the only soap we will use. On the rest of the occasions that I use a bath soap, then I have all of the Yardley collection. The one I am reviewing today is the Fresh Aloe with Cucumber Essence Naturally Moisturizing Bar. It comes in a 120 g/4.25 ounce bar. It is a slightly raised oval shape soap, with Yardley and London embossed into it. The color is green. You can smell the fresh, clean fragrance the minute you take it out of the box. I use it in my bathroom, mainly as a hand soap, by the basin. It really lathers well, and feels creamy. After rinsing my hands, they feel soft, and I don't loose any moisture out of them. I can wash my hands dozens of times in a day, and they do not dry out. These soaps are not tested on animals, and are in 100% recyclable packaging. They are also paraben, and sodium lauryl sulfate free. Love these soaps. Effectiveness Hands are clean and not dry. Scent Really refreshing.

On first try, I knew it was another **Yardley **keeper although from the description I thought it might smell like a salad. Indeed, it does have the fresh air aroma of the outdoors for starters. From there, **FRESH ALOE with CUCUMBER ESSENCE** lathers fast and has the gentleness of whipped cream in your hand and on your face and body. Please know that a little of this soap will go a long way. If you itch after using it, you might have a sensitivity to ingredients, but it's much more likely that you got carried away, used too much, and didn't get it all rinsed off. Does the bar "use-up" very rapidly? Same deal.
