Who doesn't love Yankee Candles??? Yankee Candle Company has been in business over 30 years and is one of the most successful companies on the market. Their stores are located nationwide, and they operate a web-site for online purchases and product information.
I have lost count of the number of candles I have purchased from Yankee Candle Company: strawberry, Sun and Sand, Sugar Cookie, pineapple, Ocean Water, Sea Salt, and my all-time favorites: Coconut Bay and Roasted Coffee. The sheer number of options in the shops can be overwhelming, so I typically limit myself to shopping at their outlets or during sales, so I don't have to stop at buying just one! Because of the variety available, you can not only select your candle preference based on scent, but also on color scheme of your home or office decor...if you want a blue candle, you have at least 5 options of scents to choose from that will look beautiful in your setting.
The disadvantage of Yankee candles over other brands, say Mainstay at Walmart, is clearly the cost, but this is a case where the adage, "You get what you pay for," is clearly true. Most candles that are from department or discount stores contain significantly lower levels of scent and burn quicker, giving you less bang for your buck.
Because so many people are sensitive to strong smells, I use a candle warmer instead of lighting the wick. I still get the smell in my home, just slightly milder, and without the danger of burning a candle or making my guests nauseous. The candles last longer as well, which saves me money. My only complaint about this tactic is that then I have to wait longer to buy a new scent!
