I have been on the lookout for a motorcycle since September of last year, I had one before i got hurt in 94 but was afraid I could no longer ride. That all changed in September when I rode a 1200 Harley Sportster for a week while visiting my daughter. I wanted a motorcycle that I could easily handle but still have the ability to make long trips in a comfortable manner. I researched many bikes and narrowed it down between a Honda VT1100 Shadow and a Harley 1200 Sportster. That is until a friend here at Viewpoints reviewed The 2007 Yamaha V Star 650 Classic. Fantastic bike! And its only my first one!

I purchased this bike about a week ago and I absolutely love it! It looks a lot bigger than it is. It is comfortable to ride and had a lot of power for its size and weight. This is my first venture into the world of motorcycles and I have to say i think i'm hooked. This bike has everything I wanted in my first bike without any of the horrors of small displacement bikes. The first day i had it someone rolled down their window and asked "What kinda bike is that?" I couldn't believe it! And this guy had Harley stickers on his widow and his bumper! I have a 2008 VStar Classic. I love the bike, I agree about the 6th geat but the bike is amazing. Great looks. I have spenrt way to much and added way to much chrome but i love the attention it gets. Many think it is a Harley. And many Harley guys adore her looks, grudgingly. To me, she has the classic lines of what a motorcycle should look like.

I have to say that I really did love this bike, I owned one from 2002 to 2005! Easy to handle and comfortable, with enough power to get me up the grades to Mammoth!

People thought I was riding a harley, lol.. I was so grateful that I paid a fraction of what it would have cost me for a harley.

Great gas mileage, I rode it everywhere! with the weather in Ca. and this bike. Oh My, I was in heaven!

I traded up in 2005 and am still riding. But I will always miss the ride of my Yamaha V-Star 650. (mine was a 2002) So I know the 2008's Must ROCK!
