This online question and answer resource is enjoyed by its many fans for its use as a resource for everyday and difficult- to- answer questions and Yahoo! Answers is also appreciated for its customer/user focus: It allows members the opportunity to submit answers themselves and also to vote on the effectiveness/accuracy of an answer. Yahoo! Answers receives mostly positive comments from reviewers and they say things such as “Don’t Just Scratch Your Head- Toss Out Answers at Yahoo” and “Yahoo Answers is Very Addictive”. Some have pointed out that Yahoo! Answers is limited in its responses and cannot answer every question, but this Reference Web Site is still considered pretty good and it comes through with the answer you want more often than not.

For those that may not know, Yahoo! Answers is one part of Yahoo's push into the Web2.0 arena and offers a place where any Yahoo user can ask any question. In return any Yahoo user can offer up answers to that question. The asker can choose a best answer or in the absence of the asker choosing a best answer, the community can vote on a best answer. Yahoo Answers is a very large community where users can go to ask questions or to answer other people's questions. The majority of people on Answers are friendly and helpful, but occassionally you will get rude comments or down right profane answers. And although you can report inappropriate answers and questions it often takes a long time of the administrators/moderators to remove them and/or reprimand the trouble-maker.
But overall you can get good, quick answers to your questions on anything: cooking, pregnancy, computers, kids, animals, etc.
As a former Level 7 Y!A user, I know how valuable it can be as a resource. My caution is that if you are looking for any answer that could have a political or ideological difference you will not find answers on both sides of the issue as Yahoo! takes great lengths to censor anyone who disagrees with their views and thus it is not a free forum.
As long as your searches are fairly mundane (i.e. things that you could easily look up on Wikipedia instead of waiting for someone to answer it an Y!A) you shouldn't have a problem.
