Being a parent of toddler girls I am constantly washing clothes. My girls love anything that will make a mess, which usually ends up on their outfit, so I find myself changing them quite often. In my home laundry is done daily, which means I'm constantly buying detergent. Of course I prefer the popular name brand detergents, but not the cost that comes along with it. Every now and then I find myself on a tight budget and decided to try out Xtra Fresh Cotton Breeze laundry detergent since the cost was afforfable at the time. I was impressed with the price considering the size container I purchased. I made sure the liquid detergent didn't appear to be watered down, and the scent was bearable. The first load I tried Xtra Fresh Cotton Breeze detergent on was a small load where the girls had been out in the mudd after it rained, so the stains consisted of mainly mudd. I followed the simple directions, and when the clothes had finished spinning, I was eager to see if this detergent worked. I found that some items were cleaner.than others, but overall I was pleased with my purchase. The clothes were clean but lacked a fresh clean scent. I solved this problem by adding fabric softer, which helped with freshness. Since my intial use I've tried Xtra on heavier stains, and even soaking the stains didn't get out grass stains, or oil stains. My overall impression of this bargain detergent is that it can be used for everyday light stained laundry, but when it comes to soiled laundry, such as grass stains this product doesn't cut it. The price is friendly and helps me stay on budget when I need to.

This laundry detergent is awful! I only bought this to try out because it is ridiculously cheap, now I know why it is so cheap. I washed one load of clothes with this stuff and that's it, in the trash it went. Any stains on my clothes, even the few fresh ones from my kids, did not come out. My clothes still had a slight just worn odor as well. I used the right amount and washed the clothes on the right setting so it was not my doing that this detergent did not work. Now I know why this one is so cheap and always on sale for buy one get one, it does not work! Performance It did nothing for my clothes, it was like I washed them in plain water. No stains even remotely came out, clothes still looked dingy and worn. Did not brighten colors and make clothes appear to be clean at all. Scent Smelling this from the bottle, even while washing the clothes, it smells wonderful. I noticed though that after the wash cycle the scent was gone and my clothes still had the just worn odor on them.

Xtra is a low end laundry soap that is often on sale at our grocery store. I don't usually buy it, but because it's so cheap, I sometimes get it when money is tight. I know it doesn't work as well as most others, but it does the job when you have no other choice. I won't bash this product. You know what you get going in and shouldn't expect more than a basic laundry detergent. It has a minimally aromatic fragrance that doesn't really last after the wash. It will clean your clothes and it is affordable. Xtra usually goes on sale almost every week and is the kind of thing you can stock up on if needed. It also has the "HE" feature for anyone with an "HE" washer. Xtra also has many different varieties of scent that are almost indistinguishable from the others. Overall, Xtra laundry detergent is a satisfactory product for the money. It is frequently on sale, affordable, smells good (but it doesn't last) and can definitely be a lifesaver in a pinch.

It is a fair laundry detergent it does not clean the best but it holds scent ok. I buy this one when I can not afford my favorite. I have four kids so I have to use what I can. Performance It soes not clean the greatest but it works ok if you need to buy something cheap. Scent It does smell pretty good for the price and it holds scent for a little while.

I buy the extra detergent when it's on sale. It is actually really cheap per load. Even though it is really cheap, I use it only for not so dirty clothes, or in addition to my other more effective detergent. When I use less than a half of the recommended amount of the more expensive and effective detergent to save money, I substitute the xtra for the other half. Performance This detergent is not very effective on stains. I never use it on my white dirty socks and other very soiled clothes, because it simply just doesn't work. I have kids who often stain their clothes with food, markers, paint, and other stuff. My husband works in construction, and his clothes are very stained with cement, paint and other things that are not washing out well with any detergent. The detergent gets out the sweat and just regular dirt, but not the stains. Scent The scent is nice, but it doesn't stay on clothes after washing.

Xtra Laundry Detergent is one of the best values out there for laundry soap. Many brands prices have skyrocketed recently but Xtra is still pretty reasonable. It goes on sale a lot and coupons are often available for it in the stores. It cleans your day to day clothing just fine and leaves a nice clean scent. However, it is not really good with ground in dirt, stains, or grease. Yes it will clean these things to some extent but I find that it is not outstanding in any way. It is the brand I use most often on the clothes we wear. But it is not all that good when it comes to work clothes, whites, or grease/oil stains. If you use it to pretreat the stains and rub it in good before putting the clothes in the washer then it does a better job. I usually use stain boosters if I am washing really dirty work clothes. I do not know how it compares to the more expensive brands as I do not buy them. I buy what I can afford and Xtra is the brand I buy. I have used some other brands of similar price and did not really see a difference in the cleaning power of one over the other. So if what you need is just a detergent to wash your clothes this detergent is fine and will do the job. If your household gets really dirty and greasy then you may want a different detergent. I would recomend this product to others because it seems to do it's job just fine and I have not ever tried a brand that did any better.

**Xtra Fresh Cotton Breeze Laundry Detergent **works pretty good for the price. This detergent is very low-priced and if you have a coupon it is even cheaper. It is one of the lowest priced detergents that is on the shelf at the store. I purchased this with a coupon to try it out and I really like it. I have children and sometimes their clothing is very soiled. Sometimes my clothing gets very dirty as well from cooking and cleaning and just the work of the day. And I need something that really cleans. And this detergent seems to be working fairly well. It cleans the clothing and makes it smell good. I was actually surprised that it worked so well. I was concerned that it might not be as good as some of the other detergents but it actually worked quite well.  I would buy it again and I do recommend this to other busy moms that are on a budget. To me saving money is very important. So, it is good to find a low-priced item that does not compromise on quality.
