Xbox 360 - Crackdown Review Summary

Crackdown is an Xbox 360 an open ended game where "you're an Agent for an organization called The Agency, that’s trying to clean up Pacific City. The crime ridden city is becoming chaos incarnate, and their only hope is you, the agent, who happens to be a super human master of destruction." The game presents a lot of "cartoonish" violence, and does so with "innovative abilities and skill systems", as well as "good driving physics." Blending a combination of gang war-fare and character development, the game is what the player makes of it, allowing a lot of freedom, and an almost "choose-your-own-adventure" feel to the timeline. The only negatives found with the game were that it could have had more levels, and that at times it seemed too unrealistic. This is noted as a great game to play with friends, but if you are looking for a different type of game, take a look at reviews of other Xbox 360 games here.

I had been searching the web for clips from the Xbox 360 show at E3 the year before the 360 came out. I finally found it and ended up watching a few clips of a game called Crackdown. I was intrigued by the trailer, and knew I would have to have this game.

Plot: You're an Agent for an organization called The Agency, thats trying to clean up Pacific City. The crime ridden city is becoming chaos incarnate, and their only hope is you, the agent, who happens to be a super human master of destruction. Work your way through the gang leaders to reach the top of food chain and finally make the city safe...

Crackdown is a "sandbox" game that allows you to choose your own adventure.  Game play is relatively non-linear as you can decide which gang leader to take out in what order although it is recommend to take out the gang captains before getting the big boss.  You can spend hours just running around and killing the gang members on the street or hunting for all the agility and hidden orbs in order to increase your skills.

Gameplay is pretty well balanced and definitely manageable. You will need some problem solving skills to take out some of the more advanced bosses as far as the approach is concerned,...

I love Crackdown.  They need to make another GTA is boring to me now as I can't jump from building to building or run really fast.  The tower climb in the center is freakin awesome.  Great game, make a series!
