Xbox - 360 Console Review

I am reviewing the XBOX 360. First of all, let me apologize to Microsoft for taking so long to purchase your console. I was a PS2 fanboy and refused to bow down to the XBOX. I am truly very sorry.

 With that out of the way, I believe that the XBOX 360 is the best conole ever. Less than two years ago I was still reluctant to part ways with Sony. I mean not only did they develop the revolutionary original PlayStation, but they had the balls to give us another one in the PS2. But as that console rose to the top, a capable competitor in Microsoft emerged. It has now taken over. When you include the innovations of the soon to be stunningly updated XBOX Live, the 360 console holds a firm grip on the market. True, it may not seem fair to include XBOX Live in the debate. A lot can be said about what an actual gaming experience consists of. Are we to consider only the games on physical media? I'm sure there are people who believe that XBOX Live Arcade gives Microsoft an unfair advantage. Those same people would tell you to compare the top three consoles in about two years, you may see something totally different. As true as this may be, it is not the case now. It appears that Sony is a step behind when it comes to the online experience. It took a while for the Playstation Network to finally appear while XBOX Live has been thriving for over five years now.

The games haven't been too bad either. XBOX exclusives such as Halo, Mass Effect, Gears of War and many others are formidable examples. More are planned and with exclusive downloadable content, XBOX 360 will be the console leader for a long time. Hopefully, console malfucntions are a thing of the past. I've had mine for over year now and it hasn't 'red ringed of the deathed' on me yet. I don't why it took me so long to let my PS2 go. I guess I wanted to be loyal to the company that made me a true gamer. I knew that if I were to buy a 360, my Sony days would be over. I can't afford to have both systems, especially now that games have gotten longer, with more content and seem to be at a higher quality with dizzying regularity. I have to chose one. Right now, I choose the XBOX 360. The addtion of Final Fantasy XIII to the lineup, which now makes it clear why game has taken fifty years to develop, is "blasphemy, I tell you!" If I were to have stayed on board with Sony, I would have truly been upset by this. Final Fantsy XIII most likely would have forced me to buy a PlayStation 3. I love the game that much. But then I turn to G4 to watch E3, and now it appears that I don't have to! That was pretty much the nail in the coffin in my estimation. The only thing that could possibly be better is if God of War comes the 360.

 The XBOX 360 is a great machine with an enormous catalog of games, a fluid online experience, blockbuster exclusive games and downloadable content, pc compatibility and much more. If I were to rate in on a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 9.5. Even though it hasn't happened to me, that whole 'red ring of death' thing is a concern. I hope that's all figured out by now. Overall; however, the XBOX 360 provides a more complete gaming experience. The PlayStation 3 has begun to make noise in the indusrty, but I doubt that it will come close to removing the XBOX 360 from the top spot.
