Most HelpfulTwenty minutes on my first gaming session was more than enough to be taken in by the story. Actually, just the initial scene was enough.
Bioshock begins as your plane crashes into the ocean. As you swim to "safety" among fiery debris to what initially seems like a lighthouse, you find out it's a lot...

Most HelpfulI loved this game!!! It was amazing and so much fun and challenging. My kind of game. It has an interesting plot and a foggy outcome which keeps things exciting and mysterious!! I love games that allow you to build and choose skills, and this is one of them! It has many fun weapons to use and is nonstop...
review »Bioshock here may look unusual because it has this very weird story line attach to it but the game is so visually stunning and so well crafted that you just have to see this intense First Person Shooter for yourself.
The story is going to be hard to explain but I'll try my best. Many years ago in the early 1990's a man named Andrew Ryan (cool name by the way) created his own city underwater simply called Rapture where the citizens were free of religion and could practice any scientific theory they liked. It was supposed to be this fantastic new age world where humans would have all these amazing...
Bioshock is a unique game that takes place in a ruined 1960's world. This is something I'd NEVER expect to see in a game. The game is also like a horror movie; zombies, blood, ghosts. You name it, its there. The whole "Little sister, big daddy" is also a unique aspect of this game. I'd highly recommend this game to any FPS fan or major gamer in general, or to someone who wants to try something new. However, I think the game is played a lot better on the PC, as with any FPS style game.

It's one of those rare games, that has all of what you love about a great game, with none of what annoys you. I realized, after about 10 hours of play, that absolutley nothing was ticking me off. If there was ever a game that got everything right, it's Bioshock.
Normally, you hear much about a shooter having an "absorbing story", and you're just like: "yeah, yeah, just shut up and let me shoot you". But Bioshock, actually does. The bleak, dystopian world scenario is hardly new in gaming, but Bioshock puts a great twist on things; and the art-deco 1940's sci-fi world is very refreshing and incredibly...
Bioshock is the first game that I completed when I got my XBOX 360. I had seen my boyfriend playing it on the computer and it looked like a lot of fun; plus I had other friends recommend it, so I knew I wanted to check it out. This game is so much fun, the graphics are incredible, everything is so detailed and looks real. Rapture (the city you're in) really comes to life, I got so involved! It's so much fun, I had trouble putting the controller down. I'm not very good at video games, although I love them, and I was able to play this game on my own without a strategy guide even. You...
review »There's no question that Bioshock is a very good game that would be enjoyed by RPGers and FPSers alike. The graphics and setting are simply amazing and completely immersive but the story is not very engaging and by the end, the action begins to feel a bit like more of the same.
Since the developers themselves hold up Bioshock as the spiritual successor to System Shock 2 one cannot help but take them up on the comparison and there are a lot of similarities between the two. In short, while Bioshock clearly excels visually, SS2 is a better game.
The game starts off with you out in the middle of...
This is a completely and utterly awesome great game. It has some of the most unique weapons for a first person shooter that I've ever played. I am so excited about Bioshock 2. This game is really great at telling a story while never leaving the first person point of view. You don't need to. The plasmids are really fun weapons and you can do all kinds of cool things. The big daddies are really creepy the first time you see them and the little sisters give you a choice between 2 ways to play the game. You can choose to harvest them or you can choose to save them. I hear the better...
review »Rapture is a city underwater to which you travel in Bioshock via the Xbox 360. Not only are you immersed under the Pacific when you enter the first air tube, you will be immersed in one of the best games ever made. The sound, graphics and mood are intertwined with such a pefect intesity here that you may never put the controller down.
I cannot recommend this enough. You have the best first-person shooter here mixed with a made-for-Hollywood story. Throw in a nagging fear that will keep you running to find out the truth before it is too late.
I think the game begins really well and it is visually impressive. If you don't have the game set on the highest difficulty level it isn't challenging enough so put it up to the hardest level to be challenged and have more fun with it. Gameplay is great and the environments are so realistic. Pros: graphics, gameplay (if put on the hardest difficulty setting) and the way it pulls you into the game world. Cons: too short, strange and difficult to understand storyline.
Bioshock not only came equip with amazing graphics- between the amazing water quality and vibrant yet disturbingly eerie colors- It also had amazing voice actors. Every Diary found was believable and well done. Throughout the game you are kept in suspense as to what your motives are. This game will never be played the same by any two people. There are too many possibilities for a great game play. That's why I recommend this game for any type of gamer- be it an xbox junkie or a newbie.
