X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a re-boot of the X-Men franchise, in particular focusing its story primarily on one main character.  While there are plenty of sub-plots to go around, the focus of this movie is mostly about Wolverine (Logan) as he becomes the mutant hero that everyone knows now.  The story...

X-Men Origins!

The story starts early in 1840's Canada Northwest Territories (history tells us this section of Canada was not "Northwest Territories" until 1870 but this is a review, not a history lesson) -- with Wolverine as a child living with his brother and father. Seems Logan is a mutant and has...

I admit, I am a sci-fi freak. I grew up with Star Trek and really never quit watching them.  I watched X-Men with my son when they were just a Saturday morning cartoon.  I don't go to the movies often, and now that I have little ones at home, most of my movie watching is on DVD's late at night.  This week I grabbed a copy of X-Men Origins Wolverine and stayed up far later than I should have just to finish watching it.

I will try not to do too much of a spoiler . .  .

To be honest, when the movie first began I was trying to figure out exactly who, what, when, where and why this scene was...

XMEN Origins:Wolverine (2009)  ...This movie starts out in the year 1845, a young James Howlett is a witness to his father being killed by Victor Creed's father, Thomas Logan. James out of rage, kills Thomas Logan with his bone claws that can pop out of the top of his hands. With his last breath, Thomas Logan tells James that he is his real father, not the man that he had been told was his father. The two young boys, James and Victor leave the house running, and they decide they will stay on the run and will always back each other up!

Through the years, you see the brothers, James and Victor...

My boyfriend called me yesterday and asked if he could come into town and see me, because he really wanted to see this new Wolverine movie with me.  So he showed up and we went to the cinema and got our tickets.  We sat down and the previews started, which was great.  I love the previews.  My only problem with them is that they get me so excited for the movies that they’re previewing that I forget what movie I am actually there to see…and then when I remember what it is, I’m disappointed, because I wanted to see the movie in the previews.  This was the case with X-Men, also.  For...

It's always been my opinion that you can really tell the quality of a movie just by the previews. Awful theatrical trailers that make you look at your friends like, "Seriously?" generally indicate a bad movie ahead. This movie was preceded by trailers for movies like Transformers, Night at the Museum, and Ice Age. The whole audience was revved up just by the previews.

The movie had me from the start... it had a brilliant intro. Who knew Wolverine was so interesting?! It starts with Wolverine and Sabertooth as kids, Jimmy and Victor (respectively). After an incident with their fathers, and...

I, like everyone else who is a fan of Wolverine, waited in line opening night to see it.  Well, I wasn't disappointed (much).  Hugh Jackman again does a great (and sexy) job as Logan and his angst over what is right and wrong.  Liev was fabu as an early Sabretooth, but I did have issues with the relationship and development.  I am never a fan of how movies can change details of comics.  I am a fan of the comic, and can say I was greatly disappointed by the little things they changed to create the storyline for the movie.  Three Mile Island?  Really?  C'mon!  And when did Logan rescue the...

My boyfriend and I love to go to the movies and are usually the ones that our friends ask about what to see. We were really excited about this movie because it looked like it was action packed and awesome. We asked around before we went and heard that the acting was really cheesy, but decided that we would take our chances and see it anyway. We loved it. We were right about the action, it was great. Heart pounding and exciting for sure. The acting was a little cheesy I admit but there were a lot of parts of the movie that we would have never seen coming. For that, we feel that we got our moneys...

Even if one wasn't raised watching and reading comics, you would enjoy this movie. I had high expectations of this movie and walked out happy. Wolverines claws looked totally fake for most of the movie (they did a great job with them in the other X-Men movies) and I don't get why they did Dead Pool the way they did (Ryan Reynolds was a perfect choice). I was a tad disappointed with Dead Pool but I'm still going to buy this when it comes out.

X-men Origins: Wolverine is a fun movie though it has its faults. If you have seen the X-men films then you will definatley want to check this flick out.  If you havn't seen any of the X-men films and are into superhero films and sci-fi actions then I would see them asp! While X-men Origins:Wolverine is not as cerebral as the X-men films, X-men Origins Wolverine does its job and gets the point across.  What is that point you may ask?  Well the point is to provide a background for Wolverine before the X-men movies and introduce other characters that will eventually serve in the spin-offs of...

The orgin of Wolverine goes into the depths of him becoming the favorite and most misunderstood X-man there is.  Hugh Jackman plays wolverine and the story goes back to his childhood and where he discovers his mutant abilities.  The beginning of the movie he kills his father unknowing to him at the time in a rage because this man had just killed the man he thought was his father.  His brother and him run away and live a life traveling and fighting in wars and battles throughout history.  His brother is also a mutant who will later be known as Sabertooth.  After decades of fighting they join...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a great family movie. It is full of adventure and action. I found that the movie was full of a lot of twists and turns. I would have never expected some of the things that happened. It portrays a corrupt government and it's connection with the mutants. You quickly become skeptical of a lot of the characters as a lot of them lead double lives. Just  when you think you know a character they turn around and do the unexpected. It allowed me to better understand the other X-Men movies as it gave a lot of background information that I had previously been confused about. This...

I am not a big fan of movies that have violence in them but this movie is definitely a lesser version of violence. It portrays a corrupt government that uses mutants for their own benefits. Ryan Reynolds is spectacular and his sword scenes are to die for. The graphics used in this movie are splendid and the movie constantly keeps you on your toes. There is some romance incorporated and this movie gives a lot of answers that you probably had while watching the previous movies. There is a lot of deception that goes on as well. A lot of the characters seem to be one way but then you find that they...

OMG! I saw this yesterday, I was very impressed with the effort of the producer and director to attempt such a diverse character, such as Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman does his usual fine (okay, fabulous) job inhabiting his role as Wolverine. You really felt for the guy as he went through his life and the horrors he had seen and participated in. You felt the anger and sorrow as he fights with his brother, members of the military, and finally his own teammates.

This movie holds you for the entire time.

There are a few continuity errors that you may discuss with your friends on your way...
