I love the taste of Juicy Fruit gum and even finding myself craving this gum. It has great flavor and love the taste...I am not a big gum chewer, but every so often I will go for it. Juicy Fruit curves my sweet tooth every-time.

Juicy Fruit gum has also been a helper for people that suffer from moles and voles digging up their yard and leaving holes all over the place. When I was little my dog was bit by a vole and passed away and it pretty much ripped me apart losing a good furry friend of mine.  I don't like to poison pesky animal and maybe this isn't the nicest way either, but it works.

Number one I am an animal lover, and I still have issues with my dog Corky passing away, but I get more people asking me what they can do with their moles and voles in their yard ripping it apart. Juicy Fruit gum is the answer.  These little critters love this stuff and it isn't good for them...they can't digest it.  From working in a garden center for 11 years this has always been the tried and true method that has worked...Juicy Fruit gum...Rip it up into small pieces and drop in the hole.  The little critters will eat it and then pass away since they can't digest it. Your yard ripped apart, danger to your kids and pets or piece of mind?  It's cheap and it works.

I was too Patty, but when one bit my pup and she passed away...I got Grrrrrrrrrrrrr lol. I just happy I don't have those little kritters around here. (knock on wood). Now it is good to share lol.

I hate moles and other critters but I don't think I could give them stuff to kill them. My husband HATES that I am so weepy about pests but I feel sorry. I don't even step on ants. Besides, *I* like Juicy Fruit gum! lol.

Wow! brilliant...re: the gum - what I miss the most because I have two crowns on my front teeth is not being able to blow bubbles and for some reason I can't crack gum any more. Jo

Ya have to love the farmers...they find all sorts of neat tricks...Voles aren't to bad looking...the moles I could live without.

Wow, I have never even heard of a vole. Yikes!! They sound scary! Who would have known that gum could take care of this problem.

What an ingenious idea! It sure doesn't sound inhumane to me -- just the thought of a mole or a vole makes me almost want to FAINT!

Yeah this one really blew my mind when I heard it, but many swear by it. I am a goof and with my imagination I picture this little guys sitting around blowing bubbles with the chewing gum

Thank you! I would have to check with my mom about the possums...she had a family living in her garage last year and they are still in the yard. She just loves their sweet little faces and they are mean little kritters...You could give it a shot with the gum...they aren't that big...least the ones by my mom's house aren't...Lots of chewing gum for them.

averntula wrote on Apr 1, 2008 at 11:25AM

I agree completely. I dont really care for chewing the gum... but my parents have used this gum to get rid of those pests in the backyard.

Good tip - thanks! ;>

This is good to know. We don't have moles and voles here. Do you think it would work for possums? I'm also sorry to hear about your dog, Corky. Take care and thanks for the informative review!

Sorry to hear about Corky. I didn't realize that voles could harm a pet. I'll have to keep that in mind.
