Do you live in an apartment but would still enjoy growing (and using) fresh herbs? Then the Italian Herb Garden Terra Cotta Planter with Basil, Chives and Oregano Seeds kit may just be for you! This is a great little kit that comes complete with everything you need to grow fresh herbs right on your windowsill.

The planter is small (5x5x6") but, has four separate planting sections and comes with a little recipe booklet to let you start planning what you are going to make once the herbs are ready to use.

To plant the herbs you simply drop in the little peat pellets and add the water to make them open up and expand. Next, you add a few of your seeds (included) into the soil. You have three sets of herb seeds: oregano, basil and chives. Now you simply care for it as you would any herb seeds, keep them moist and give them a lot of sun, which is why a windowsill is a great spot for this pot. As the herbs grow, you can clip them fresh and use them in your cooking and once you start using fresh, you'll never go back!

We got my daughter this and she did it a bit different than the suggested method. She planted the center with the oregano seeds and the three side sections all with the basil seeds. She then planted the chives in a separate terra-cotta planter which she also keeps on her windowsill. She did this to give the chives more growing room, but if you are tight for space, you could plant all three herbs in the included pot.

Kristy's Final Viewpoint-

The Italian Herb Garden Terra Cotta Planter Kit is a really functional item that works well for those that don't have room for a garden. They are available at some local garden stores as well as online (Amazon and others) for around $20. A nice gift for the gardeners and cooks in your life.

Sounds like a great one. Fresh herbs are wonderful. One tip for some people. Don't overwater. I drowned mine once.

I'm not into gardening, but growing indoors doesn't sound too bad. It eliminates the sweat and strain.

I'd like a windowsill pasture of chia pets, each growing a different herb.
