There is absolutely no WOW factor with this WowWee Roboraptor. It's overpriced and not at all worth the money. I got this for my brother and we all hated it. It didn't work like expected, it almost didn't work at all. It was difficult and not durable. He dropped it once and it would no longer work.

My son wanted this for his birthday but my husband and I went into sticker shock.  Fortunatly a friend of ours with an older son was getting rid of his.  We bought it from them at a fraction fo the cost.  This was good because it doesn't do half the things it's supposed to.  we can bairly get it to walk.  We have wood, tile, and low pile carpets in out house.  We have tried to get it to move on all three surfaces.  It walks VERY VERY slowly. After attempting to play with it for about two days it mostly sits around my 7 year olds room gathering dust.  When he does play with it he mustly sets is up as a "door alarm" for his room so it will roar at me when I go in with laundry.

My son got this for Christmas and loves it very much!!! I saw the other reviews, I don't know how old the other roboraptors are but this was purchase this year 2010. Maybe some things have changed since some of the mixed reviews I don't know. I took a really long time to get this thing out of the box. My husband and his brother spent almost an hour getting the thing out. So overall from that stand point they pack it really well. After we got it out and set it up with the batteries and whatnot, this thing was pretty cool. My son couldn't figure out the remote and although this is not intended for a 5 year old, we supervise and help him with it as it is a decent shape and size. I love the ability of moves it does and find something new that it does every time we play with it.  I have had many laughs with this thing as well as my son has too. The uncle and father were not as impressed at I was and my son was, so I don't know. I guess you have to see the likeness and coolness of it.

I bought this Wow Wee Robo raptor about a week before it stopped working. This toy was a lot of fun to mess with for a little while. And then... it stopped responding to the remote control. I had to point the remote directly at the receptor and then click the button a quite a few times for it to do what I wanted it to. Soon after it stopped responding to the remote control, the batteries died. It was fun scaring my dog with its roaring and stomping effects. This toy also does not work on carpet but just sort of falls over when you put it onto a carpet. Oh and about the roaring and the biting and the other stuff, this dinosaur only bites you if you stick your finger into it's mouth and press the button on the roof of it's mouth. That is unlike the commercial that showed a girl sicking her robo raptor on a boy it did not recognize. The only other I liked about this toy was the motion and sound detectors that respond to clapping and make the dino "angry" or "happy" or "scared". The toes on the dino also scratched up my woods floors when I set it to run. As a whole I was disappointed with this electronic dino. It just annoyed and frustrated me to no end when ever I brought this toy out. This toy needs quite a few adjustments to bring it up to today's electronic standards.

This toy is rated for ages 8 and up. That is one thing that must be taken into consideration. BUT this toy is so much FUN! There are 3 different modes, Hunter, Playful, and Cautious. The toy reacts in different ways to all 3 modes. There are touch sensors over the body, so not only can you "pet" the toy, but it also avoids walls, chairs and other obstacles. This is just a very very neat toy.
