Worst Movies ; Worst of the Worst Part 4 —

Glad you could join me for another walk down massochist lane as I remember bad times watching The Worst Movies of all time.    Ugh.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time watching any of these.  Don't rent or buy anyt of these unless you want to show someone you really hate them.. then wrap one of these up as a gift.

Dungeons & Dragons (2000)
Director: Courtney Solomon Starring: Jeremy Irons, Justin Whalin, Marlon Wayans, Zoe McLellan, Thora Birch, Kristen Wilson, Richard O'Brien

Already we want to erase this horrid thing from our memory. The cast over-acts atrociously (Irons), or in the case of Wayans, is actually more annoying than Jar Jar Binks on a drunken binge, in this horrid fantasy about a teenage princess who takes the throne after her father is assassinated. She declares everyone on the planet shall be equal and the ruling rich class revolts and tries to kill her. It is one of the movies so bad you will get angry and possibly hurt yourself throwing something at whatever screen it is playing on. No need for that.. just avoid it.

Fear Chamber (1968) Also known as Chamber of Fear. Director: Juan Ibanez; Jack Hill
Starring: Boris Karloff, Yerye Beirut, Eva Muller, Julissa, Carlos East

One of the three Mexican quickies Boris Karloff shot right before he died, after his stroke left him confined to a wheel chair. A mutant rock demands that women be sacrificed so it can drink their blood. It's depressing to see Karloff in this worthless  turd even for the few minutes he's in it . Spare yourself. Karloff shot some footage in Los Angeles just prior to his death with Jack Hill. The various footage was used in three Mexican horror films.  This is the worst of the lot. Spare yourself

The Fiend(1971) Director: Robert Hartford Davis Starring: Patrick Magee, Tony Beckly, Madeline Hinde, Suzanna Leigh AND Fiend (1983) Director: Donald M. Dohler Starring Don Leifert, Richard Nelson, Elaine White.

Not content with one bad movie having this title, inventive movie folks wanted two awful movies with this title on for the 1970s and one for the 1980s.  I believe they took a moratorium on it for the 90s but we are in a new decade... so be afraid.

A religious fanatic goes on a rampage with a knife??but you won't care or be able to stay awake in the 1971 loser. The 1983 Fiend has a glowing fuzz ball that animates a dead guy who has to continue to kill to live so he becomes a music teacher in a small town and kills off his students.   These movies are only useful for  torturing enemies of the state.

The Fifth Floor (1980) Director: Howard (Hikmet) Avedis Starring Bo Hopkins, Dianne Hull, Patty D'arbanville, Mel Ferrer.

A disco queen overdoses on drugs and is committed to an insane asylum. Within fifteen minutes you'll want to jump off of this Fifth Floor.

The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu (1980) Directed by Piers Haggard Starring Peter Sellers, David Tomlinson, Sid Caesar, Helen Mirren, Simon Williams

Sellers tries, but his impersonation of both Fu Manchu who is after a secret life preserving formula and the Scotland Yard detective on his trail are desperate and unfunny.   You could also add it's politically incorrect too...but no need.   Sadly this turned out to be Sellers last movie.  Sellers and the cast can't do anything about a terrible script, and lackluster direction. There's nothing here. An unfunny comedy to avoid.

Food of the Gods 2 (1988) Director: Damian Lee Starring: Paul Coulos, Lisa Schrage

The original (in 1976) gave famed campy 50's producer/diretor Bert I. Gordon the chance to again show the techniques of bad rear projection he perfected in the 50s in such camp classics like the Amazing Colossal Man, War of the Colossal Beast, Attack of the Puppet People, The Cyclops, The Spider and many others. The first GODS one starred the amazing thespian talents of  ex preacher, con-artist co-star of Earthquake the movie;  Marjo Gortner and mainly giant rats.  It was bad.  The special effects were dated, cheap and bad too.   #2 however was not made by Bert I. Gordon but was produced by Roger Corman's Concorde Films company. A female doctor experiments with a growth hormone and student radicals release the lab animals, meaning giant rats attack students on campus. Bad rear projection and a couple of rubber props (giant hand) is all you get. No one needs to even try and sit through the dull, bad Food of the Gods, I can't imagine even attempting this one.   The connection to H.G. Wells is so far removed I'm going to come back and edit out this sentence in the near future (unless I forget).

 The Forbidden Dance (1990)
Director: Greydon Clark Starring: Laura Herring, Jeff James, Sid Haig, Richard Lynch, Barbara Brighton, Kid Creole and the Coconuts

This is the movie brought to us by Menahem Golan's 21st Century (the company he started after Cannon went under) to cash in on the Lambada dance craze (which never took off but produced 3 or 4 movies). This is the one that had a touching ecological message. A Brazilian jungle princess comes to America to stop an evil corporation from cutting down her tribal rain forests. When she is stopped by some company henchmen, she teams up with a hunky dancer and they plan to get their message out to the people via some dirty dancing!! They will enter a dance contest, win it and when accepting the first prize trophy on the live national television broadcast, our princess will make a plea to save the rain forest. Former Miss USA Laura Herring plays the princess but unfortunately she cannot dance and the film doesn't ever convince us that she can. Yipes.  I should also mention that nobody cared about the Lambada when this came out.  I know it sounds bad enough to laugh at, but you'd have to invite lots of friends over and get very drunk to make this movie fun... and watching people do the Lambada SHOULD be very funny watch....

I warn you.. more installments of  Worst Movies ;  Worst of the Worst  will soon be here.  Be afraid.. be very afraid....
