Woot.com —

Oh, what a glorious day it was when I discovered the Woot.  Now, I start each day by checking all of there sites to see what the day's possibilities might be.

Here is the thing, for the most part, woot offers one deal avery day.  When it is gone, its gone, and you need to wait until 12:00 AM CST the next day for a new one.  But, that is part of the fun.  There is the anticipation of not knowing what is coming up next.  It might be something great that you need or are looking for.  It might be something stupid and useless.  It might be a great deal or you might be able to find it cheaper some where else.  No matter what though, you will find yourself checking every day.

The great thing too is that the product descriptions are usually humorous and entertaining.  So, even if you never buy anything from them, its still worth a couple minutes each day just to read what they have to say.

The community is great as well.  There is a certain camaraderie amongst the users.  You will not find user message boards like this on any other shopping site.  that too is worth a couple minutes a day.

Then, on some days, you may get to experience what is referred to as a "woot off."  When this happens, instead of the usual one deal a day, as soon as an item sells out, another one pops up.  Oh, you may very well wear out your F5 key refreshing to see what the next deal is.  If nothing else, it certainly makes the day go faster at work.

And then there is the illustrious Bag O' Crap.  I have not yet been able to acquire this deal of all deals.  But, basically, when it is offered, you can order 3 "craps" for just a buck a piece, and it comes to you in a bag.  Now, what you get is the surprise.  It may truely be crap, or it may be something worth much more than a buck.  You never know, and, at least in this case, that is all part of the fun.

Shipping is also always $5, no matter what the item.  So, if the deal of the day happens to be that new flat screen TV you have been eyeing up, you still only pay $5.  not to shabby if you ask me.

There is no site like a woot.site, and they are branching out.  They also have a weekly wine deal at wine.woot.  Of course, living in the Puritan state of PA, I cannot participate in that.  But, they also have shirt.woot.  Here, they offer one wacky T-Shirt design per day for only $10, and shipping is free unless you are in a huge hurry.  They also have a weekly design contest once a week.  They through out a theme, users create and then users vote.  The top three vote getters are offered up for sale Fri-Sun, with the winners getting a cut of the profits.  Not only is it an earning opportunity for the creatively inclined, but it is also another fun thing that makes woot, well, woot.  The offspring I have been having the most luck with lately is sellout.woot.  It takes you on a little redirect to yahoo shopping, but then it is just like the regular woot site, giving you in effect, 2 deals of the day.

So I am not afraid to say it, I have a site crush on woot.com.  It really is the first thing I look at when I log on every morning.  Even if you never buy a thing, it really is worht the couple minutes for the entertainment factor alone.  But watch out, if you are not careful, you may soon find yourself sucked into the woot.com vortex.
