Woolite Rug Stick Is Easy to Use

4

We have a lot of high traffic carpet areas in our home and do not own a rug cleaner.  The Woolite Rug Stick is easy to use, inexpensive and requires little storage space between cleanings.  I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the carpet dried making it ready for vacuuming and use.  This is very important to us with 3 indoor pets.  The downside is that it is probably only usable with the Woolite Heavy Traffic Spray Cleaner, as this is how it was designed.  Owning a good vacuum is imperative to prepare for and complete the carpet cleaning with this product.  The Rug Stick left the nap of the carpet standing tall which is a definite plus in my book.  I do wish the cleaner would remove more old stains while being family and pet safe.  This product is best for use between professional cleanings, but not as a replacement for professional cleanings. The Woolite Rug Stick easily beats cleaning carpets with a sponge mop. Performance cleans decently, but doesn't perform miracles. Scent Nice scent that is not too strong

Woolite Rug Stick is a Good First Try at Carpet Cleaning

3

What is the first thing you do when your carpet needs cleaning? One option is to rent a heavy- duty cleaner or call a professional. But if you want to have a go at it yourself, one possible option to consider is the **Woolite Rug Stick.** **Carpet Cleaner Commentary:** The Woolite Rug Stick is a simple device with a scrubbing brush on one end. The pole of the device houses a container of carpet cleaner which is released by turning the lever away from the lock position and then pulling the device toward you. Woolite Rug Stick is intended as a means to scrub away stains from carpet and save a little money in the process. The problem is, it is only capable of removing smaller stains that are not yet set or soaked/dried in. I have had decent success with this device on small area rugs and other carpets, providing I get to the stain quickly enough. If carpet is badly stained or if the stains cover a wide area, then a device like this is impractical. You will be up all night scrubbing back and forth, trying to remove stains that may or may not break loose. If stained areas are small, however, the Woolite Rug Stick is a decent alternative to spending money on a steam cleaner. A few pulls of the handle and a little scrubbing will remove lighter stains from carpets large and small. Be warned, however, that the liquid isn't likely to last and refills can get costly. I find it takes a good amount of liquid to clean effectively so expect a single bottle to last for only a few stain removals. **Bottom- Line Viewpoint:** No one wants to spend a large sum of money renting a steam cleaner or paying for a professional carpet cleaner and Woolite Rug Stick is a fairly good alternative to spending the big bucks on a professional. It won't work on every stain and it isn't practical for a large carpet, but it is good enough to consider for the initial shot at cleaning a small stain. Performance It works okay, but is only good for smaller stains. Scent The scent is acceptable, but nothing special.

easy way to keep your carpet's heavy traffic areas clean

I have not seen this advertised.  I thought it was a new product as I just happened upon **Woolite's Rug Stick** in the store and had not seen it before. I noticed that reviews for this were posted last year so it isn't that new.  I must not be very observant! I don't have a lot of carpet in my home.  I have mostly hard wood flooring and tile.  The carpet that I do have is upstairs and covers the bedrooms.  One bedroom, in particular, has a spot that I can not keep clean.  It is located in the doorway to the bedroom and then as soon as you enter the room there is a another doorway to the right to enter the bathroom.  As you can imagine, this piece of carpet gets a lot of use. I am always cleaning it and it seems it is always dirty.  With this spot in mind, I bought the Rug Stick. The Rug Stick comes in a box with everything you need to use although, the can of Woolite Heavy Traffic  cleaner that is included is just a small sample size can and doesn't last very long.  The product itself is quite easy to assemble.  You simply take out all of the metal connecting tubes and the handle and push them together until they each snap into place.  The bottom of the "stick" has a brush on one side, a dispenser on the other side and a cup that holds the cleaner in upside down.  There are two settings on the foot of the stick.  One locks the cleaner dispenser so that it can't dispense and the other is a spray setting that allows the cleaner to dispense. With the setting on lock,  take off the top of the cleaner can, shake it and then snap it into the cup. Once assembled, pull the stick towards you with the brush facing up.  The cleaner will evenly dispense cleaning foam as you pull back. Then, flip the stick over and scrub the foam in.  Allow the foam to dry and then vacuum.  Presto, chango, clean carpet! **Bottomline:** The stick is not long enough.  At 5'4" I feel like I am having to bend over too much.  I am not that tall.  The other negative is that you need to keep shaking the can.  This is awkward once it is installed in the stick. That said, I do like the product and will continue to use it.

Not worth the Money!

1

I purchased the Woolite Rug Stick since I needed to clean a small area rug. It was also on sale and I had a really good coupon. After putting the component together (reading all the instructions), I was ready. Unfortunately after pushing and pressing, no cleaner would release. I actually had to remove the can and push it now manually. I went and got a bucket and a scrub brush and on my hands and knees, clean the carpet. When I contacted Woolite headquarters about the problem, I was informed that I may have purchased the component with a malfunctioning canister. Their remedy, go and purchase a new canister of cleaner. WHAT?! After putting down my hard earned money you want me to go out and purchase a new canister of cleaner to see if that is the problem. No! I finished cleaning the rug and threw out the Woolite Rug Stick! This is not worth the time or the money spent using this thing. I will buy Woolite rug cleaner, but not the kind that I have to use this stick. Save your money!

Get the carpet clean- for a few days anyways.

This product was wonderful and it got my carpet really clean.  It even got certain spots out of the carpet that other products did not.  The only problem was, that it only got rid of the spots temporarily.  After a few days the same problem areas that I used the Woolite Rug stick on were back and seemed dirtier than ever.  So, this product is great for a temporary cleaning.

The Rug Stick is nice but not a miracle worker

3

I have used the Woolite rug stick on several occasions. It doesn't work quite as well as it does in the commercial where the lady is now able to invite her neighbors into her home because the carpet is clean but it does improve the carpet. The other benefit is my children love it so they are always eager to volunteer to clean the carpets. I think the best part of this product is the actual Woolite spray. It makes the carpet (and room) smell very clean. This could be accomplished without the actual stick, just by buying the can of spray. I usually end up spraying the carpet and then using the rug stick but not actually using the can on the rug stick. It seems to waste cleaner when you use it attached because a lot of the foam gets on top of the stick and not directly on the carpet. However there are usually good sales on the rug stick with the cleaner and coupons are usually available making this an affordable product.

Woolite Rug Stick Not for large or heavly soiled areas

2

I was looking for a carpet cleaner that I could use in our RV, 35ft fifth wheel. Machines just do not work, too large to get into the small areas of an RV and very heavy to operate. I thought the Woolite stick might do the job but was disappointed as to the operation of the foam dispensing. The foam came out in such small amounts and with much pressure having to be applied to the head, that you would be better off to just buy a can of the Woolite Heavy Duty Cleaner and spray it on as usual and buy a scrub brush on a stick. The foam product is OK and does as good a job as any of the others, and I have used them all over the years. If you have a small area to clean that is not very dirty or stained this item might be to your liking. It would however not be very cost effective. Woolite products are generally good but this one is too expensive for what it does. Also please note, the can of foam that comes with the stick is about half the size of a standard can of cleaner.

Quick and easy!

I love my Woolite Rug Stick!  I have 2 messy children, 2 messy dogs, and 1 cat, needless to say our area rugs need frequent TLC and the Woolite Rug Stick does the trick.  It is perfect for area rugs, I am not so sure if I had wall to wall carpeting if I would use it.  Its great to spruce and freshen the rugs in between the deep cleanings of a large carpet cleaner.  It is very easy to use and has a wonderful scent.

Woolite Rug Stick - Nothing like the commercials

1

I have to admit, I was seduced by the television commercials for the Woolite Rug Stick. The happy looking model/mom easily glided the Rug Stick across her carpet, tons of rich white foam came out, she gave it a few gentle scrubs, and her formerly FILTHY literally almost black with filth carpet became sparkling white again. Now, after using the product, I'm thinking that the commercial is a scam, and they must have filmed a piece of filthy carpet next to a piece of brand new carpet. I brought the Woolite Rug Stick and set it up, which was easy, you just have to snap the can of foam into the stick. I glided the stick across my carpet and nothing came out. I glided it a little harder, still nothing. I jammed the stick roughly into the carpet, and a little bit of foam came out. It takes a TON of elbow grease to get the foam to come out of this thing, and between that and scrubbing it into the carpet for what seemed like hours, my back and I were both exhausted. After it was all done, my carpet looked a little better, but it was no magical transformation like on TV. The Woolite Rug Stick is definitely not worth the effort it takes to use it. Boo!
