Woody's Diner - Royal Oak, MI Review

My family and I were surprised to find seating available during an event weekend downtown. Now we know why...If it weren't for the food, this restaraunt would recieve 0 stars from this diner!

A little history - PBS supporters can receive a "member-card" allowing 1 time discounts at Detroit area businesses from April 2008 through April 2009.  That morning I verified that the offer for Woody's was still valid and off we went to Royal Oak.

Upon arriving we were "head nodded" by a passing server to our table.  She was slow in returning to get drink orders (mind you they aren't full).  Before ordering I presented the coupon to our server and was told that they no longer accepted it as the establishment changed owners 2 years ago...um, the coupon was just issued in April?!  But whatever we were hungry, hot and tired so decided to stay afterall the food prices seemed reasonable.  That was until you get nickel and dimed with sides and condiments!!!  10% of our food bill was 2 - 2oz sides of guacamole, 1 - 2oz side of salsa & 1 - 2oz side of sour cream!  NO JOKE!

After being shocked by our bill - over $50 for 4 diners at lunch with NO ALCOHOL (2 waters and 2 drinks) I asked to speak with the manager. 

HE NEVER SHOWED!!!  After waiting 15-20 minutes I paid the bill and we left!  I have left a message for the manager via phone and it's been a week and no return call.
