Too big for my dishwasher

You pay for WolfGang's Name This product is quite expensive, but it works decently. First, there is a large surface area attached to this grill, so you can cook a great amount of food. The problem is that you have to ensure that the meat is thin or else it will not cook decently. It will need to have thin slabs, such as half an inch in diameter. So with that being side, it will be good for burger patties that are flat, eggs, bacon, and shrimp. The second problem is that this is a large grill and does not fit in my dish washer at all. So, it was really complicated to clean and therefore I returned this grill. Cleaning became a manual chore for me and at the price point that I paid, I did not think that it was worth it at all. It's definitely a bulky product. The idea is great and they have to make a gimmick to stand out in this market saturated with different grills and griddles. Look at the measurements before you buy.

Multi-purpose kitchen tool.

I received the Wolfgang Puck griddle as a gift.  It's a wonderful, multi-purpose kitchen tool.  We lived without a traditional kitchen for many years and this griddle served as our main tool for cooking.  You can flip the griddle over and the surface on that side is a grill.  I don't tend to grill things, but my husband does and it is nice to have that option for him. The surface is very easy to clean, which is a huge plus in my book.  The electronic element easily slides out of the one end and you can put the cooking surface in water to clean.  I don't usually do this though.  I usually just surface clean.  There is a drip pan at the bottom to catch the oil and grease.   The downside of the grill is that the cooking surface isn't very large.  It's okay if you are cooking for one or two people, but if you are trying to make pancakes, for instance, for a larger group, you will be sitting by the griddle for over an hour.  Nice as a secondary griddle though.  And small enough to take with you if you are going RVing.

Wolfgang Puck vs Geo. Foreman, no contest

I love to cook and my kitchen is full of gadgets and cookware to make things easier. I love a good steak with great grill marks or chicken breasts with a flavorful crust. I live in an apartment and there is no grilling allowed, so I turned to indoor electric grills to get my fix. In the past, I had used a cast-iron pan and while the results were good, the smoke and grease were a big turn-off, not to mention the clean-up that followed due to splattering. My first electric grill, from that boxer guy, was not what I had hoped for. I was never impressed with it. The steak turned out grey and very unappetizing looking and while the chicken had nice grill marks, it too was less then what I expected. I was shopping with a friend at a local warehouse store and they were demonstrating the Wolfgang Puck Double-sided grill. You could hear the sizzle of the meat and there was no smoke as the meat cooked. I think I made a pest of myself, hanging out with the demonstrator, watching her & asking questions. I didn't want to shell out the bucks for another "flop". This grill is wonderful. It is heavy and holds the heat (just like my cast-iron pan). The controls have a temp range from "warm to 425" and the steak I made on my first attempt came out perfect! The grill marks that I love were seared into the meat and the little bit of fat went into the drip-pan below the grill. The next time I used it, I used the flat-griddle surface for chops and they too came out crusted and perfect. The surface is large enough to grill meat and vegetables at the same time. This is defiantly a much better grill then the one I had used previously and cost less that the G. F. The whole thing comes apart for ease of cleaning. There is a scraper for the grill/griddle but I prefer using my own cleaning tools & the drip pan does fit in my dish-washer. There is even a user-manual that gives some of Wolfgang's recipe's for making different dishes.

Grill

This grill is ok. It certainly does the job but it is very heavy which makes it diffcult to move around and hard to store. Cleaning the grill is difficult especially after you cook bacon- even if you put tinfoil under the grill- it is still a mess. Grease gets splattered all over grill, the cord, the counter top and the wall making cleanup a chore. Now about the cooking, it cooks pretty well but it doesn't seem that the heat is distributed evenly making it difficult to know when your food is cooked. We have decided to get rid of our grill and to purchase a stove top grill that goes over the two burners to see if that works any better than this grill.... Stay tuned I will write a review about our new purchase to let you know if it was worth it!

just what I wanted

My electric griddle finally konked out after a few years regular use.  I really wanted something significantly bigger than what I had, and sturdy.  This griddle fit the bill just perfectly.  It has a very large surface area and it's a good shape - not sure why I like it better but I feel like it's deeper and that works better for more things. Also the griddle is very sturdy and well constructed, it heats quickly but is also very sensitive - I can lower and raise it as needed and it responds very quickly.   Cleanup is a snap!  I just wipe it down - even when there's pancake batter EVERYWHERE - there's never an issue. I've used the pan many times, mostly for pancakes and french toast, but also for grilled cheese and the like.  It is successful regularly.  For those who complain of the weight I am  not sure of the issue - it's not a pan that you have to move around - in two hands it's easy to put where you want to use it - you're not flipping it around.

Heavy

This has to be one of the worst gifts I ever got, so very heavy making it diffcult to move around, hard to store, does not fit in a cabinet, have to leave  the Wofgang Puck Grill on the counter top.  Cleaning is also very hard, grease gets splattered all over grill, cord, and counter top making cleanup a chore, does not drain grease very well either, you need to push the grease towards the drain.  Now about the cooking, it cooks ok, but does not cook even so if you have bacon on both sides the bacon on one side cooks faster then on the other side, because I believe the heat does not distribute evenly, where the plug goes in is the hotter side and the other side stays colder and takes much longer to heat up and never reaches the same tempture.  After using for one year the grill finally just gave up and broke, overall I would not recommend a Wolfgang Puck open grill and I replaced it with a Cuisnart, which I love.
