It is no secret to the people in my family that I am a fan of Wolfgang Puck products. My sister-in-law bought me the Wolfgang Puck Bistro 7-piece Stainless Utensil Set 754-514 for Christmas in 2005. She has bought me several items from Wolfgang Puck to add to our collection and I am always happy to get them. I keep my utensil set in a stainless steel holder which I purchased separately and is very handy. This set of utensils is truly a great set to have. There is a utensil for almost all of your cooking needs. I keep mine right by my stove and grab something out of the holder every time I cook.

The Utensil Set

The Wolfgang Puck Bistro 7-piece Stainless Utensil Set 754-514 includes a slotted spoon (eight inches in length), a soup ladle (ten inches in length), a slotted turner (eight inches in length), a solid turner (eight inches in length), a whisk (four and three quarters in length), a fork (eight inches in length), and a skimmer (eight and a half inches in length). These utensils are made of 18/10 stainless steel and have holes at the top of the flat handles for hanging if you choose to. They are dishwasher safe and come with a lifetime limited warranty.

Although I received my set as a gift, you can purchase this product online at HSN.com right now for $29.90. Not a bad price considering the quality of these name brand utensils.

My Experience

This set of utensils is literally about all that I use when I am cooking. I also use them when serving my food. Unfortunately, for some reason there was not a solid spoon included so I did have to purchase one separately. Regardless, I love this set. Not only is there a piece for virtually all of my needs, but the quality is very high. The utensils are very durable and not too heavy. They don't bend, rust, or stain. I also like that, because they are stainless steel, they do not absorb food odors like wooden utensils and do not stain like the plastic ones.

I was worried that, because the utensils were stainless steel, the handles would get very hot and I would be unable to handle them without potholders. This is actually not the case. For some reason, possibly because of the length of the utensils, the handles stay cool. (The lengths are stated above) The only time that I have noticed that they begin to heat up is when I leave the spoon or other utensil in a pot like when I am making sauce.

These utensils should not be used on Teflon coated pans because they will scratch the surface. I have a lot of the Wolfgang Puck stainless steel pots and pans that I use my set of utensils with.

The set looks very modern and attractive on my kitchen counter and often I receive remarks from guests as to how nice they look. I always make sure to follow up with how well they perform.

Final Thoughts

I definitely would recommend the Wolfgang Puck Bistro 7-piece Stainless Utensil Set 754-514 to anyone and everyone who cooks. You don't have to be an avid cook to get a lot of use out of these utensils. I would love to go with a 5 star rating for this set but, because of the fact that the set does not include a very important piece (the solid spoon), I really have to go with 4 stars. Still a great set but the missing solid spoon doesn't really make much sense to me.
