Within Tempation Review

yet another metal band from the netherlands, who happend to inspire countless other metal bands from that region. within tempation (WT) is another female fronted metal band who centers their music around their lead singer's vocals.

compaired to the likes of other female fronted bands like evanescence, lacuna coil, and even nightwish. personally I don't see how all these bands are alike except for the fact that all have women as lead vocalist,plus WT started out using more insturments and less vocals except for grunts,etc. which some critics would label them as a gothic/doom band. their second album had more of a gothic metal sound to it and with their third and fourth album more of a symphonic rock/symphonic metal feel.

despite not having any vocal training, the lead vocalist (sharon) has proven that she is one of the best female vocalist out there today. expressing emotion and clearity in her singing combinded with amazing fashion sense. I guess that is why there is a large number of dutch bands with female vocalists. one of the great bands out there today!
