Windows 7 Ultimate Review Summary

So far our community has mostly good things to say about Microsoft’s newest desktop Operating System (OS) for home users, Windows 7 Ultimate. One reviewer stated: “The first thing I noticed that was different, besides the overall look of the program, was that it automatically found all of my drivers!” Yet another reviewer stated: “[i]ts just really cool , with exciting new features ( all features work ) and yes this time for once you can actually believe all the hype surrounding the new launch of the operating system...” While Windows 7, in all its many variants carries over a lot of Vista’s security enhancements, graphical, and dazzling multimedia features, they come wrapped in a less resource intensive package that almost guarantees that older computer users can also install the OS. Bottom-Line: In general, this performance indicates that Microsoft has spent a lot of effort with Windows 7; this time they got it right...

Okay, I'll admit it; I was one of the computer geeks who were (very) excited about Microsoft's much hyped follow on to Windows XP, Windows Vista.  I was after...

When purchasing our new Toshiba laptop, it came with Windows 7.  We bought this the day it came out.

First of all Windows 7 does not accept outlook express, so we had to use their email, and then it took a day, to find out how to put Len's and my 'cable' email addresses in.

Next the Norton anti virus,...

I was fortunate enough to be accepted by Microsoft & House Party to host a Windows 7 Launch Party on 10/22 - the retail release date of their newest OS.  I received my package with Windows 7 Ultimate Full Retail yesterday (10/8) and did a clean install on my computer (previously I had 32-bit Vista Home Premium and wanted to upgrade to the 64-bit Ultimate, thus the clean install).  I couldn't believe how easy installation was, even for a clean wipe.  It took a total of no more than 15 or 20 minutes from the time I got the disc out of its packaging and was logging into the new one to begin putting...

Windows 7 Ultimate

Plenty of users over the world, have heard of Windows 7 (Seven). The up coming and much participated Operating System, which is due to be officially Retail Released on
October 22, 2009.

I was fortunate enough, to get a Release Candidate from Microsoft to test the current version of Windows 7 Ultimate.

I first expected, from all the images, screenshots and even the logos, that Windows 7 will be a bit of a clone to Vista. To my surprise, its totally diffrent, in sense that, its so smooth, it has a GREAT Graphical User Interface and has a good working Compatibility mode, for applications...

Why isn't  there a FREE WINDOWS 7 upgrade for VISTA buyers and those who downgraded to XP because of VISTA TROUBLE?

I am one of millions who bought machines preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium.  I also have machines running XP, 2000, and 98SE.  I have many friends and acquaintances who bought VISTA-loaded machines and heted it so much they downgraded to XP.

Now, I am one of the few who actually like Vista, have no problem with it, or no greater problems than I have had with XP, ME, 2000, 98SE, 98, and even 95.  Also, from what I've read about 7 it is a somewhat stripped out version...

After Xp and the abortion called Vista, I was dubious about any new operating system. In the Alpha release, I realized that Microsoft had a winner. The the Beta and the Release Candidate were beyond Xp and certainly better than Vista.

I adopted the OEM version before release date and had my Netbook, my Laptop and two desktop systems operational on the 22nd - the release date. I have never been happier with the performance and features that are in Win7 and can give my highest recommendation for converting.

Keep in mind if you are running any OS other than VISTA that WIN7 must be a clean install....

Windows 7 is clean, simple and easy to use. its everything vista should have been! while running vista on my laptop i constantly recieved runtime errors, no more thanks to windows 7! i have only rebooted for installations and i've had windows 7 since oct 12th!  the only problem i had while installing was the fact that i had to reinstall the drivers for my graphics card, not a huge deal as the drivers are redily avaiable on the toshiba website.

I love the snap feature with the browers, although i still find myself flicking between tabs.
windows 7 is a excellent stable operating system, much like...

Window's 7 and I have gotten off to a rocky start. At first it was suspected that our wireless internet connection was not compatiable with Windows 7. Now I am learning that our previous printer is not compatiable either. That makes me sad! However, it is pretty cool that you can put your mouse over the internet explorer button and see all the web pages. I like the organization of it as well. However, I would rather have the stabilty of knowing that my other products associated with my computer would work too.
