Windex Outdoor All-In-One Window Cleaner Review

The Windex Outdoor Window Cleaner is a good invention. Window cleaning isn't my favourite chore. It's time-consuming, & can be hard on the arms & back. I found that the Windex cleaner simplifies the process.

It comes unassembled, & is easy to put together. The handle's in several pieces, which snap together with the cleaning head on the end. The disposable cleaning pad has a Velcro backing. Attach the pad to the cleaning head, spray the pad & window with water, & you're ready to go. Clean the window & spray it a second time with water. You're done. No scrubbing cleaning solutions or drying off by hand.

The tool is lightweight & fairly simple to maneuver. There are a lot of trees & narrow passages that make it difficult to reach some of my windows. The cleaning head is small enough & the handle long enough that I was able to effectively clean most windows, some of which I haven't been able to do properly in the past.

The cleaning process is quick & simple. It didn't leave the glass entirely streak-free, but the results were definitely better than I'm used to. Before cleaning there was a lot of dust & smudges, & the windows were much clearer afterwards.

Other reviewers said they didn't believe the tool could be disassembled. I had no problem at all taking it apart. I like this feature for two reasons. It makes the cleaner easy to store when I'm not using it. It also makes it possible to adjust the handle length for windows on the ground floor.

What doesn't appeal to me is that I assume the product isn't recyclable. The cleaner head seems a bit flimsy, & I wonder how long it will hold up with regular use. I'm not a big fan of disposable products, as we already have too many in the landfill. The cleaner is also somewhat limited as it's not meant to be used indoors, & the handle isn't long enough to fully clean windows on upper levels.

Because of these factors I recommend this product with reservations. It works well enough that I'll use it from time to time, but will probably alternate with my usual cleaning methods.
