Windex Glass Cleaner (Mountain Berry Scent) is an everyday glass cleaner identical in use and efficacy to Windex's original blue cleaner. However, rather than leave your clean house with an antiseptic smell (a dead giveaway that you just cleaned, that cleaning is not necessarily a longstanding habit for you...), this product is a transparent purple which smells "fresh" (yes, in that fake air freshener kind of way, but not cloying or annoying). I also find that Windex (blue or purple) does a nice job of cleaning counertops, tiles, etc. as well, so that this becomes my "all-in-one -everything-but-wood" cleaner. As a very busy person with a very dusty apartment and not a lot of money, I find Windex in general to be a great buy, and the Mountain Berry Scent to be the certain something that makes me choose that particular cleanser over all others.

I prefer Mountain Berry to the blue but not just for the scent. I know this sounds crazy but I think it does a better job than the blue and in the local stores the only other Windex choice is the vinegar which doesn't appeal to me at all. I know vinegar is supposed to leave things sparkling better but I WANT THE MOUNTAIN BERRY! I don't know why it seems to work better but I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't leave any cloudiness like the blue does. I called the company because I'm having trouble finding the Berry in my local stores but now none of them have it. S C Johnson (the manufacturer) tells me that the formula is the same except for the scent in all 10 varieties that they make. The choice in local stores is up to the local distributor, whoever that is...if I ever find out, I'm going to hang them by their you know whats....and that you can order it through SC Johnson if you wish. I'm thinkig of going that route since I really miss this product. While I'm at it, I may as well throw this into the pot...I hate that I find so many great products in the stores and all of a sudden they don't stock them anymore. I have a list of maybe 30 items that the DISTRIBUTORS have eliminated just in the past year. I know, I know...ebay.I've done that...but it's a lot more trouble. It can't just be about whether it's selling or not. I see people in the aisles all the ime looking for the same items that I'm wanting. We always end up venting about the craziness of this practice. I live in a Michigan but I even have my kids looking for it in Chicago stores. No luck so far. Who is/are these super human distributors and why are we at their mercy?
