A special at the grocery store helped me choose which window cleaner I was going to go with. Selling at 2 for $5.00 were the Windex fragrance sensations, and I popped it into my basket with a few other cleaning products I had purchased for my apartment. Not being a fan of smelly cleaning products, my nose is pretty sensitive, and dislikes smelling most cleaning products. With the chance to purchase one that would smell different, I figured I could give it a try. At two for the price of one, there was not much chance of me passing it up. Glancing over the choices, I ended up going with the Mountain Berry fragrance for my Windex. It seemed as though it would be something I could live with, and maybe even enjoy breathing in from time to time. Knowing that I shouldn't be breathing this stuff into my lungs in the first place made me a little bit weary of a cleaning product with a fragrance.

After airing out my apartment to let a little breeze go through, I popped out the Windex and headed to the main living room windows. I had air flowing through to avoid breathing in too much of the cleaning product, and began to put it to use. The Windex comes in a spray bottle with a nice handle grip molded to your fingers at the front of the bottle. At the top is the nozzle, with a nice little squeeze-trigger that allows you to spray as much, or as little of the product as you desire. At the front of the nozzle, is a little "switch" that allows you to close off the bottle, or open up an area for the liquid to spray through. This is helpful to avoid the product leaking when you put it away after use. So, using this bottle was very easy for me, and it make the whole cleaning process a lot less stressful than imagined.

After spraying the windows from the top down, I grabbed a few paper towels and went to work. The product did a great job of not streaking, and I was quite happy to see how easy it was to wipe the Windex from side to side on the windows. The product seemed a little soapy, but when I was done wiping down the window it was impressively clear to see through. It made me take a lot of pride in the job I had just done, and made me that much more happy with this product. From there I moved over to the sliding glass doors leading out on to my deck, and I put it to use again. About a week after having washed the windows both on the inside, and on the outside, the cleaning product has held up well enough to keep the clearness from when I first used it. It looks great, and no streaks have appeared as of yet.

Let's go back to the main reason that I went with this type of Windex. The Mountain Berry fragrance is actually a pretty good one, and I have no complaints about the smell itself. However, I found that the fragrance dissipated very quickly in the air, and this made me a little disappointed. I had expected the smell to linger after I was done cleaning, but instead it was only there for a brief moment, and then was gone. I guess it is a good thing not to be breathing in chemicals, but with the advertising I had seen, I was just expecting it to last longer. I do however like the smell at first though, so I will limit my complaining. The bottle I purchased comes in 26 FL OZ (768 mL) and the liquid inside is reddish purple in appearance. It is a product of the Johnson/Johnson company, and I highly recommend its use for cleaning windows.

Directions for Use on Bottle

1. Rotate nozzle to ON position.
2. Spray and wipe with a dry paper towel or lint free cloth.

I like Windex for cleaning windows but for me, the fragrance dissipating is a pro.
