This particular cake pan is awesome. Like the greater majority of Wilton's products. There are so many ways to decorate, explore and experiment with this cake pan. The cake pan is sturdy and durable. I am unsure as to whether or not it is stick free because I always use pan spray and flour. The cake itself should be cooled thoroughly prior to putting together. I often use a layer of melted Hershey's chocolate between the 2 cakes to make them easier to work with and to ensure they don't break off, fall apart or crumble. Working with it is a bit on the tricky side. The awkward shape is a bit difficult to frost. The really cool part about it is that you can use 2 completely different flavors of cake to spice things up a little bit. This cake pan holds so many cool and creative designs to discover. I did put the pan in the dish washer once and there was no damage but no matter what I tried, it didn't come out as clean as the other dishes so I would suggest that it be hand washed. You can also get some cool ideas about decorating by using Google images.

I bought the Wilton stand-up cuddly bear cake pan set to make a cake for my sister's baby shower. I was afraid I would mess it up or it would not work quite as easily as it appeared to but I was very pleased with the results. This cake pan makes the bear cake appear 3D and the cake that is baked is incredibly sturdy for a stand up cake. This is a must have for anyone who loves to bake! I love the fact it is a 3D cake because it makes it seem like I am a much better baker than I really am. I got great reviews from friends and family at my sister's baby shower. Several people did not even realize it was a cake! The only downside to this cake pan is that it is hard to close the mold. Performance It works wonderfully well. I followed the instructions as directed and was surprised at how easy it ended up being to make a standing 3D cake. Ease of Cleaning This is very easy to clean in the sink. I would suggest letting it soak for a few minutes first to get the cake crumbs to come out easier. Durability It has held up well after several uses the pieces all work properly and the cake pan has not gotten that brown used look. Design I absolutely love how the design of this cake pan makes it possible for anyone to look like a professional baker. Doesn't Stick I found out the hard way that the core of the cake tends to stick to the middle but if your careful it comes out intact.

My four year old recently asked me to bake a teddy bear cake for her. Of course I couldn't refuse. So I went searching for a cake pan and found the Wilton Stand-Up Cuddly Bear Cake Pan Set. This is really cute because it actually sits up as opposed to just laying on the table. The final baked cake does require some assembly because the cake pan is in two pieces. You just fill each half with your cake batter and bake as normal. Once done and cooled, you just pop each half out and attach the back half to the front half. I used a little cake frosting to make it kind of stick together. Then you just get your icing supplies out and go about decorating. The basic features are set in the cake because of the design of the cake pan. But you can decorate it however you like. I have even used this and turned it into a cat cake instead of a bear. It's nice to have a general outline to guide you though, which makes this nice. The pan is good quality, not very expensive, durable, versatile and easy to clean. And get the kids in on the decorating and it makes for a really fun time.

I'm the only one in my family who knows how to decorate cakes and I was getting a little bored of just doing sheet cakes so I bought the Stand-Up Cuddly Bear Cake Pan when my brother asked me to do a cake for his daughter's birthday. Everyone loved the stand up cake and I loved how easy it was to use and how well the cake turned out. Ease of Cleaning Thank god this pan is non-stick because it would have been a huge pain cleaning cake out of all the little nooks and crannies. For the most part, the residue left inside just wiped away. I only really had to scrub right around the face, where there is the most detail in the pan. Durability I've only needed to use it once, but I'm thinking about breaking it out again for a baby shower. It's lasted over a year already. Design The design is so fun and cut for kids. I love that it's a stand up cake, it's nice to have something different in my cake making rotation. Doesn't Stick This is a MUST in a cake pan with a lot of detail and cake slides out of this pan with no trouble at all. Just make sure you cool it first.

I have purchased a lot of Wilton pans and they are always a good quality, will hold up well and unique. I thought the teddy bear would make a great cake for a baby shower but it turned out to be so much work that it just wasn't worth it to me. Performance The pan did what I expected although I got to much batter in the one pan and then had to try to slice some off to make the two pieces fit together. I'm sure someone who does these type of cakes all of the time would know the ins and outs, however the novice will want to stay away from this one. I don't think that you get the idea of how much is going to be involved with this just by looking at what is written on a box. Ease of Cleaning The pan itself cleaned up well although I had used pre spray before baking and I would always recommend doing that. What was a mess and took me so long was the icing. It seemed to spread all over as I had to refill the icing bags several times. Cute yes, but I will not do this one again. Gave the pan away and said good luck. Durability I'm sure the pan will hold up for years to come although this pan is not as heavy duty as their normal pan. Design the teddy bear is detailed and cute as can be, but it is hard to fill in the empty spots with icing to where it looks even and smooth. Doesn't Stick These pans are usually pretty good about not sticking. I just always use the cooking spray and have had really good luck since doing that.

I love to decorate cakes, but I am still an amature. I purchased this pan in attempt to make a 3D cake for my son's first Birthday party. The pan is extremely simple to use. The instructions provided are very useful. Here are some tips to make this pan great 1. Grease every inch of the pan and you will have no issues getting the cake out. 2. Overfill the pan. Too much batter is better than not enough and it spills on the cookie sheet you set the pan on anyway. 3. Use a pound cake rescipe in addition to any regular cake mix. It will help it stand up better. 4. Have fun!! I played with this cake and all the different ways you could decorate it for weeks before the party. Using only the instructions provided I made some very cute cakes. At my son's party everyone thought I had the cake professionally made (I made the panda bear design) The only downfalls... Getting the core out can be a slight challenge, but it gets easier with practice. Clipping the two pan halves together can be tough because the clips have to be so tight, I used a small set of pliers.

i have always loved to bake.  it all started when i was younger and my mom would bake cream cheese cupcakes every week for our school lunches.  needless to say, this trend has continued into my adult life.  a while back, i had a dream of one day opening my own bakery, so i went on a splurge and bought various cake pans that i felt would help me achieve that goal.  i bought this pan on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised when i was finally able to use it after the birth of my niece.  two years after i bought this pan, i was able to break it out of the box and put it to use.  i was a bit wary as to how it was going to work, but was relieved to find out the mechanics of it were relatively simple.  when i poured the batter into the pan, i was nervous that it would just pour out from the sides, but to my relief, it did not.  i was then worried that it would not bake correctly and again felt a huge comfort when after the alloted time, the cake was baked perfectly.  once i had the cake done and atop of the stacked cakes i had made to place the bear, i was elated at how adorable it looked, especially once it was decorated.  i not only got a thumbs up for the presentation, but my niece had a blast smashing the cake to bits as is custom for a first birthday.  i felt wonderful on the day that i realized i would soon be using this very cake pan for my own daughter's first birthday two years ago.  unfortunately i did not get to open my bakery, but i have intense satisfaction knowing that i am able to use this pan to delight many young children on their birthday.

I have this pan and really love it. I do it as a Panda and am going to do it for my sister for her Birthday and since it is near Thanksgiving I am making him a Pilgram Panda can't wait to do it I know it will be darling. The clean up is very easy, just make sure you wash it by hand and not in the dishwasher. Dishwasher detergent tends to discolor the pan.

This cake was sooo fun to make and easy too.  Just be sure to follow the 'suggestion' as to what kind of cake to bake in it.  I tried one that was too heavy and the bear ended up getting 'short' and 'fat'.  But I made it with the suggested 1/2 pound cake and 1/2 cake mix......... and it turned out perfect.  Everyone thought it was adorable.

I bought this pan when I was a newbie to cake decorating, so I was a little concerned that the results would not be good. I had never made a standing cake (the bear sits, but because the cake is upright, it is considered a standing cake). I had only made one decorated character cake at the time, so moving to what seemed like it should be a challenge seemed a big step. This reallly is a beginer friendly cake pan though. You simply follow the directions and the result is great.  It is a little unusual in that it is baked upside down and a tube is inserted, so it is also a tube cake, but it goes together well. There are a few different examples of different bears to make. I like the Panda effect. The center of gravity for this standing cake is low, so it transports well. It is not likely to tip over in the car like some standing cakes would. Do drive reasonably though! With this cake pan you are always making a bear, but this bear can still be be somewhat versatile. They are good for baby showers, birthday parties, zoo parties and such. Of all the standing cake pans to choose from, this is the easiest and most versatile and the result is impressive. I highly recommend it.
