The worst part of making cookies is having to find a place to cool them. You can cover your whole table with wax paper but then you have no space to do anything else! This is why I added the Indulgence set of 3 Stacking Cooling Racks on to my wedding registry. I knew I would be baking lots of cookies, and I knew I'd have little counter space in my future house. I finally got to test them out and they were very useful.
The three racks are a little over 15"x9" and they stack on top of each other and pretty much lock in place so the top one won't slip off of the stack. Once they are set up, all three seem very stable and I haven't had any trouble with them falling over as I had expected because when you first set them up the legs seem a little bit flimsy.
The reason the legs seem flimsy is because they easily fold down for convenient storage, so it's actually a good thing. I can fit 12 cookies on each rack to cool which is perfect since I usually make about 30 cookies. I also found these racks helpful for cooling my brownies in the pan. I needed the stove and I couldn't move the hot pan on my counter. One rack was strong enough to hold the pan and keep it away from my table until it was cool enough to put directly on the table. When stacked, there is about 3" of space between racks so you could easily cool and stack other foods such as brownies, muffins, etc.
The racks are very easy to clean and the cookie crumbs wiped off with ease. It seems to be made out of the same Non-Stick material that my cookie sheets are made out of. I believe that my cookies actually cooled faster than they would on wax paper because they were able to cool from the top and the bottom instead of just the top. At $9.99 this set is a steal, so head down to your local Bed Bath and Beyond and buy it for yourself or the baker in your life. It is definitely worth the purchase!!
