My first experience with Wilton Icing Colors was in 2007 as a fashion model for a runway fundraising event. My attire was a fabulous sexy chicken outfit, and since I do not enjoy wearing stockings and wanted chicken legs, I bought the Wilton Lemon Yellow Icing Color 610-108 in a 1oz size (some colors do come in a larger size, or in an 8 or 12 color kit) and mixed a small amount of it into some of my body lotion before I applied it to my legs. WOW! After the lotion soaked into my skin and dried, the color had dyed my legs and feet a magnificent, almost even, yellow (the color washed away in the shower with no residue)! Behind my knees the color did not take very well (I think because I sweat a lot there), however most people thought I was wearing either stockings or leggings. Months later I hosted a bridal shower and the theme was PINK, so among all the other pink items, I added some baked muffins that I had used the Wilton Rose Icing Color 610-401 in. They were beautiful and yummy! I think everyone enjoyed them. With these icing colors, a little goes a long way. They are a concentrated gel and certified kosher. Apparently some of the colors have a flavor to them, yet I don't think the rose icing changed the taste of the muffins at all. And I have used the rose color in pancakes for Valentines Day and they tasted fine too.
