My Viewpoint!
After being a Comcast subscriber for over a decade, I made the switch to WOW! cable.  Let me explain how this came about.   My husband and I decided we wanted to downgrade our cable, we were paying for many premium channels that we never watched and really only needed the basic digital cable.

Keep in mind, we had never had a problem with Comcast over the years.  Not once.  We just wanted to switch our package up a bit.   I called Comcast's customer service and was told that there was a package cheaper by $5.00 but without the premium channels. Sounds absurd?  I thought so too.  So 10 minutes later, my husband calls, gets a different customer service representative and was told "Wow, you have an expensive package, there is definitely a lot of other options for you".

Now, how can that be in only 10 minutes?  He listened, changed our package and that was it.  The very next day, we received a flyer in the mail about WOW! Cable Company.  I was still pretty ticked about the customer service at Comcast and gave WOW! a call.  The customer service rep was very nice, patient and full of information.  For the same exact package that I receive at Comcast and will expire in a year, I can get from WOW! for $49.00 cheaper and does not expire.  I would be stupid not to change service.

So I did.

My husband called Comcast to cancel our account and was berated by the "win-back" sales associate who said and I quote, "Mr. Bush, you must not care about our economy here in Michigan because you are going to a company that is based in another state.  It's people like you that is running Michigan into the ground".  Hello?  Not only is that rude, Comcast is based in Pennsylvania.

Yes she did.

Needless to say, he was on the phone left a message for her Supervisor and in 2 weeks received a call from said Supervisor, who said "I'm sorry, can I call you right back"?

She didn't call back.

No more Comcast for us.  In fact, after raving about them for years, I have nothing nice to say now.

WOW! Cable has provided us with the same channels, an updated DVR box, faster internet service and home telephone for almost $50.00 less than the competitor.  The technician who hooked up our service was such a nice guy.  He showed us how to work everything, went over the channel listing with us and even gave us helpful tips on what to do in case of a power outage, etc.

A WOW! Cable representative called us about 2 weeks after our hook up to ask how we liked their services and if we were having any problems or would like to make a suggestion.  She cared about our opinion, which is so rare these days.

My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that WOW! has a limited On Demand selection.  We never use On Demand except for the Nickelodeon channels.  I do miss putting on Dora the Explorer for my daughter whenever she wants it.

Wide Open West (WOW!) Cable Company has bundle package deals that will beat other companies prices or will price match!  Their customer service representatives are top-notch and very informative.   I foresee a very long future ahead for my family and WOW!

That's really good. We have very few. A cable company, and some dish companies.

I never heard of WOW. It must not be available in my area. We have Time Warner and Satellite and not much else.

I use Time Warner Cable and pay about $65 a month for basic cable and nothing else. I have 79 channels; which is enough for me but I do wish I could find something cheaper and perhaps bundled with high speed but I don't want to go the digital phone route. Can I have WOW too, puhleez.
